Game Thread W11 - New England V Buffalo (1 Viewer)

73 points is the NFL record for most in a game. NE has 56 now with nearly 14 minutes on the clock. If they want to go for it, they have a tremendous shot. Personally I'd try for it, it would be just as impressive as a 19-0 season in my opinion.

Let's be honest. the only reason anyone is still watching this game is to see if Brady is back in there when the Patriots get the ball back. If it's Cassell, I'll turn it off.

NFL record for most points scored in a game:

72 Washington vs. N.Y. Giants, Nov. 27, 1966 (most combined points ever, Giants scored 41)

70 Los Angeles vs. Baltimore, Oct. 22, 1950

66 Rochester vs. *Fort Porter, Oct. 10, 1920 (shutout)

How great would it be if the Pats had the ball with 20 seconds to go, lined up in "kneel down formation", faked the kneel down and went deep to Moss?

too all of you homers who can't admit its running up the score to go for it on 4th down when there is no need to do it...I would love to lay into you with a Louisvile slugger, and when you cried stop I would say, "why don't you just defend yourself."It is lame to go for it on 4th downs when the game is over and you are up this much. The Patriots team right now is a Louisville slugger, and there is no need to beat the opponent unconscious.
 :lmao: :lmao:

I'm rooting for a cheap shot on Brady.

Now that would be novel and entertaining.
Stay classy.
Am I wrong? How many people would, if you told them it would happen ahead of time, tune in to watch a team down 40 points intentionally take out Brady's knee? It would get more ratings than the Super Bowl.
And imagine that posters like you are complaining about garbage in the Shark Pool. Keep the classless comments in the FFA.
 Hey...

The Pats should really be using this time to practice the fundamentals...like downing a punt inside the 5. They're screwed if they ever need to count on that in the playoffs.

The way they're going through running backs, why even keep a punter on the roster?

Do you people making "jokes" about running up the score actually think you are funny?
Can we just clarify all this for a second?Punching it in on 3rd and goal when the game is safely in hand is not running up the score.Taking an INT back for a TD when the game is safely in hand is not running up the score.Playing your starters through the 4th when the game is safely in hand is not running the score.Trying to kick a 50+ FG when the game is safely in hand is not running up the score.Going for it on 4th down inside the 20 when the game is safely in hand, however, is running up the score.Situation makes the difference.

McFadden would be a perfect fit to the Patriots system but I don't see them keeping the pick. I see them trading the pick for more picks....

I believe the Bears beat Washington in a Championship game 73-0 back in the day.

I think BB has the Jets game earmarked for that record. Would love to see that.

OK, second string is in....will the whiners be happy? WHat if Cassel scores? We can only wait with baited breath...

Says who? I think most would consider that running up the score. Why wouldnt you punt in that situation?

And for all you guys complaining about the Pats...the best thing you can do is just turn off your TV. As long as the game gets ratings, watching Pats blowouts will continue to be a prime-time tradition.

I don't normally bet, but I am thinking that another house in a tropical location wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.LAUNCH

Doesn't look like Brady's coming back. At least that's something. I think that by going for it on those 4 and 2s, they behaved in a very unsportsmanlike manner.

   :D :) The line will be 24 that week.

My opinion about running up the score, as if anyone cares, is that in the Pros there is no such thing as running up the score. This is the pros, if you want the other team to stop scoring stop them.

This isn't college or high school where LSU is playing La. Tech or something.

In the NFL it's supposed to be any given Sunday. Unfortunately for the Bills they can't stop the Pats. The Pats are just doing their jobs. Does anyone really think the fans want to see Matt Cassell (sp?) in the 3rd qtr or 4th qtr of every game the Pats play? No. They paid their good money to see Brady and Moss try to score as many times as possible.

Carry on.
