Game Thread W11 - New England V Buffalo (1 Viewer)

What's sad is that no matter what the Patriots do, the whining babies here will find a way to cry about it. If they go for it, they're classless. If they kick a field goal, they're running up the score. If they kneel, they're rubbing it in.If you can't handle watching football without getting your feelings hurt, then you need to find a new sport.
I think more ppl are having issues with them being up by 4-5 TD's and going on it on 4th and 1 in chip shot FG range...I don't really care, but seriously how is this NOT running up the score? If you don't agree then you are blind, a fan, or a FF owner.
I'm amazed so many guys feel the way you do. Think this through for a minute...Put yourself in the Bills position. Pretend you are playing linebacker for them tonight. Do you honestly want to even whiff the Pats "letting up"? That would be humiliating. I think Belichick is showing respect for the Buffalo players by playing it honest for as long as he has.Really, if the Pats were interested in running it up and humiliating the opponent, they would kneel down for every play in the second half- which is what many of you want. This knee-jerk response about running it up laughable. It's the NFL, not HS. And many of you are arguing for a remedy that would probably only inflame Jauron and the Bills.
Denial is a beautiful thing isn't it.P.S. Nice avatar.

The only thing that can beat this team is complacency.

What if the Patriots get McFadden in the draft with that SF pick?
That would be fun.
Yeah, but the Pats don't go offense with the first rounders usually. Maybe DL like Glenn Dorsey or Chris Long....
Thats scarier.
Considering the players already on the Patriots' d-line, I think that McFadden would have more impact on the offense than Dorsey/Long would on the defense. But either of them would be great picks as well as a fresh Patriots d-line for 60 minutes would be terrifying to watch.
The Patriots definitely seem to select for need. They'll also grab guys you didn't have slotted anywhere near their pick if they think its the right guy. They tend to go for unheralded players who are very very smart and versatile. RB is a need so they'd select McFadden if he is there.

I'm a Pats fan.Going for it on 4th and 1 up by 30+ points and throwing the ball to Moss? That's running it up.Period.That said? It's fun as hell to watch.
If more Patriot fans were as honest as yourself, the world wouldn't hate New England fans nearly as much. I completely and totally agree with you that they're running it up (that's their right) but it's rather fun to watch.
I think a lot more Patriot fans agree that the Pats are running up the score and dont care as opposed to those that think they arent running it up. Most Pats fans I talk to are enjoying this ride and dont care if others despise the team. When your team is winning, it is good for them to be hated. Thats what success does.

I think it was very classy of Belichick to show coach Gibbs that they weren't running it up on him vindictively a few weeks ago.

all of you who are calling for a cheap shot on Brady, just stop it. Don't reward classless behavior with even more classless behavior. We can just watch this team and express our scorn without wishing for injuries.
I think I'm going to start an eBay auction that seeks bids on bounties on Brady's torn ACL.
someone says what goes around, comes around....be careful crossing the road when you wish ill will on someone!
Probably a good point. I crossed the road 8 extra times today just because the traffic couldn't stop me.

I have to agree here. When OU is winning and running up the score I LOVE IT. I DVR most of the games and even if I know the final score is 56-10 I will rewatch it to enjoy the carnage. Now what this forum needs is more realistic Pats fans...you know the ones that KNOW they are blatantly running up the score.

Good for you for running up the score on the traffic.

BTW, I just got beat, as my opponent has Brady/Moss....
Mine does too but I'm up 90, so I'm safe... right?
:unsure:Now only up 36. Brady+Moss+Gost = 59 so far.
 :hot: :censored:Now only up 12. Brady+Moss+Gost = 83 so far.Unbelievable, I'm never going to hear the end of this from the Pats fan about to beat me in this league.
I would have to say I'd be livid if that was happening to me.I'm in my own dogfight. I was tied with my opponent, both of us with only 1 player left. He has Dante Stallworth and I have Ben Watson. I've got him by 2 points now but a 15 yard pass to Stallworth and we're tied. Shut that offense down, practice your running game!
"Thats Fantasy Football" :shrug:Seen some crazy stuff over the years. But I did really need that win though. :boxing:Heading to bed so I don't have to see #5 to beat me.
Now officially down, yes a 95 point collapse to Brady/Moss/Gost.I'm now down 160-157, they scored 98 points... so far.
Well, those 2 catches by Evans tied us back up at 161-161.Just need a catch out of Bo Scaife tomorrow night to still win this. ;-)

My money's on the 'Phins.
If McNabb is healthy and doesn't have one of his prototypically crappy games, they could hang with the Pats offensively. Westy is just that good, and brings a dynamic attack to the table.BAL's D may not be what it was, but they are still fairly stout. But not enough for their O to keep up.PIT and NYG are the only other teams who can get a great pass rush on Brady. Would be very interesting if NE went undefeated into Week 17 only to be stuffed by Strahan & Co. in the Meadowlands.

How many teams hated Gibbs' prior champions? I don't recall Walsh's championship teams getting hated, nor Noll's. I saw respect and some professional envy, but no hate. The part I bolded is a poor alibi.

Why? Are you trying to sell an iPod or something?

Another reason not to complain about Brady and Moss running it up.

On none of their 4 TD hook-ups was Moss being double covered.

Sure, Brady can throw to plenty of other WR, but given the stats, if you don't double cover Moss, you can't complain when he score against you at will....

Good for you for running up the score on the traffic. :censored:
I want the traffic to be beaten before it ever gets to me. I want to be feared. I'm playing for January though, when I'm going to run through traffic naked in the city during rush hour.

I agree with what you say, but I'm a Pats fan that does not believe they are running up scores. Does anyone have an opposing coach's comments from this year about the Pats running it up?I understand BB to be a fairly serious student of the history of the game. I also believe he knows what is appropriate NFL protocol in just about every instance (sideline cameras notwithstanding.) So when he leaves his starters in, there is a reason that BB believes is within the bounds of the unwritten rules of NFL sportsmanship. Same thing for going for it on 4th down instead of kicking a FG. And so on. Anyway, I'd love to read some specific complaints from opposing coaches. Because I believe the Pats are going about this in a sportsmanlike manner.

The only thing that sorts of irks me about the whole matter is that we have to watch another blowout next Sunday night.

I mean sure the novelty of how much they win by is interesting to a point from a FFL standpoint, but come on, give us some interesting football. I would take a Balt vs Cle matchup versus what is scheduled.

This is sort of like that Pit vs Mia crapfest on Monday night that is coming up.

Andrea kramer is NOT HOT

There are far worse players in the NFL besides Moss. I would compare him to M Jordan who was at times EVIL in his quest for championships and simply better than Moss at making the front office do things his way and avoided looking bad publicly for the most part.

I've stopped thinking they are running it up - what the hell are they supposed to do? If they slack - it could easily come back to haunt them if they ever do get in a tough game.

They are making it look incredibly easy. No way did the Rams or Colts score like this.

Sunday night I get to watch game somewhat un-interrupted - bummer as it was only fun for a while. Talent like that in a team sport is rare though - so you should watch. In fact every team should be studying what they do to dismantle the opponent.

If you really want to be mad at someone - it's Al Davis and other garbage owners who do not know how to run a team.
