Game Thread W12 - Seattle V NY Giants (1 Viewer)

AS a NYG fan, born and bred, I would love to tell you how wrong you are - but as a realist the NYG Defense is not even like swiss cheese, it is more like a funnel leading the opposition to the endzone. I think it will be a high scoring affair but the inability of the NYG to stop a good offense will come to the forefront today. I will still be pulling for the Gmen but am not very confident in their abilities today - particularly on the road.Final Score Prediction:SEA 34 NYG 27

they've been pretty good against the run. If they can slow down Shaun that'll be a start. I don't think any team plays Strahan and wants to be forced into a pass often mentality.

I'm banking on that run defense of the Giants today! I have Hass and the guy I am playing has SA! I hope their run defense is up to par today!!

I'm right there with you. Here's hoping that Hass has more than his typical 225 yards and 1 TD performance!!!

A team with Walter Jones fears NO pass rusher

heh :boxing:

Giants 41Seahawks 38Jay Feely kicks the gamewinner in overtime. Then everyone says it was the best game of the year to date and starts planning for the playoff rematch. :football: :football:

Seattle undefeated at home on a big streak. Clinches soon. Shot at home field. Good coaching. Have allowed 3 rushing TD's. Going against a kid with limited road success. A defense pretty banged up. Soft schedule thusfar.Makes you wonder why the point spread is 5 :coffee:

I know the GMen too well and let me tell you, "THESE ARE THE GAMES THAT THEY ALWAYS WIN". They seem to always perform against the good turf teams. Over the last few years, they have dominated the likes of the Vikes and Rams and even the Colts in Indy. In all these games they were underdogs and I expected them to get shelled, but low and behold they rip them apart. I really dont know why. I worry more when they play a crappy team bc it seems like they choke against those types of teams more often then not (see the vikes game this year). My prediction Giants 30 Seahawks 17MT

Reason #1 why Strahan will never be considered with the elite DEs in NFL history. Strahan has always played LDE avoiding the best LTs like Walter Jones, Orlando Pace, etc. Maybe not avoiding, but certainly not facing the best. He never got the opportunity.

I've broken the "doesn't rain so much" record here on our boards a few times. However, today could be the second ever Seattle home game with rain and cold weather.

why? predictions or matchups or something?
The Giants and more importantly, Manning are not very good on the road. Manning has been horrible, and their offense has become one dimensional. Seattle shuts down the run, has the LB's fast enough to keep up with Shockey, and the secondary to cover Toomer and Burress.Seattle and SA are on a roll a can not be stopped. Seattle very very tough to beat at home. Defense will play with emotion, intensity, and will be flying all over the field.

Seattle 30

Giants 24

:banned:

Trufant this year :yucky: Yesterday was the ONLY sunny day of the whole month here and today looks to be mildly sunny as well. This will be the third best D-line that Seattle has faced this year, let's see what they can do for the SA. Looking forward to a game that should be better than the Monday night matchup

..., and the secondary to cover Toomer and Burress.
I'm having a problem with this part. Won't be surprised to see Burress abuse Trufant today.
Burress has been unable to handle double teams all year, and I am assuming he will be doubled today. If not, I hope Trufant pulls his head out of his ### this game.

Doubled? If you mean zone with a safety over the top, then I agree. However, the Seattle front four will have a problem rushing the passer without blitzing. Classic football conundrum. Playing zone behind a blitz. Seattle is certainly not a zone-blitz style team like the Steelers or Patriots. The Seattle corners have to be able to be left on an island. It'll be cool to watch this one get played out.

Shick! Thanks for letting us have Lucas. :topcat:
No problem. However, I know I'm not the only Seahawks homer that would take him back in a heartbeat.PS Looks sunny. Rain? What rain?

Heck of a catch JJ!Alexander owners can breathe a sigh of relief, if the Rams had lost to Houston today and the Seahawks won, the 'Hawks would of clinched a playoff birth in week 12.

Is Engram playing?
Yes and just earned a big pass interference penalty, but Hass has been homing in on big Joe who seems to be up against the rookie Webster most of the time so far.

Doesn't seem like walter jones is fairing too well today.

TV announcer is a moron. The play that the guy in front of Jones got pressure was a stunt. Not his responsibility.

Shows what I know. Wistrom just stood up and dropped back in classic zone blitz fashion while the blitz came from the other side.

False start galore on NY. Four in one drive? Can we call that a drive? More like a retreat.

loud or not there is no excuse for that.

1st couple of penalties weren't because of the crowd, but once they got into it they definately let them hear it.
