Game Thread W12 - Washington V Seattle (1 Viewer)

whats with moss always throwing punches ??? i would LOVE to see him get knocked out, maybe Romanowski can make a comeback and end up tuning moss up :lmao:

How does Moss NOT get ejected from the game when he throws a punch right in front of the ref????

And then the subsequent pass interference call was b.s.

That call wasnt bs, he was clearly pulling on his jersey right in front of the ref. I do think Moss should have been ejected. Throwing that punch was ######ed.

Call wasn't BS, but it would've been a good non-call since they were both slapping around with their hands. The BS part is Moss being in the game for the play. A textbook ejectable punch right in front of the ref. Unbelievably bad error on the ref's part. Absolutely unacceptable and pathetic. IMO it's been the worse season for bad reffing since the 05 playoff season in which the Skins were hit worst of all with 3 ref given TDs to the Bucs, not to mention the questions surrounding XL. The league really needs to address this problem and I really have a bad feeling that the playoffs this year are going to be marred by mistakes in officiating more than ever before.I hope they fine Moss and the ref who let him stay in the game.

JJ owner here, someone dropped MoMo this week earlier and I snatched him up to control the Seahawks backfield. Looks like MoMo has taken featured back status? What's the deal here?

I was wondering the same thing earlier in this therad...I had Jacobs and started JJ as a last minute replacement. From following the gamecast he seems to be in the dog house and MM is getting the bulk.

Ecstasy --- 7 minutes on the clock, your team on its own 2 yard line, and they launch an 11 play drive featuring only 1 pass.

Agony --- Betts goes in for one play and fumbles the ball to Seattle with 1:30 left.

Ecstasy --- Springs intercepts Seattle on their first play.

Clinton Portis might be the NFL MVP this year. The guy was hurt all game and produced 159 yards when they really needed every one of those yards. I cannot figure out how the Redskins can have a 17 minute advantage in time of possession, win the turnover battle, yet have the game come down to the wire like that

Same problem they have had the past several years, they move the ball well until they get to the redzone and then fall apart.ETA: It was nice that Kelly got to play today, I didn't get to see the game how did he look?

He was targeted at least 3 times. 2 of them were sideline patterns which were incomplete and on which it appeared he let the DB maneuver him out of bounds. One target was somewhere in the 4th quarter, completed, to keep a drive alive. He looked like a rookie but like he belonged out there from what little I could see.

I've seen on more than one occasion when the Skins are in a 3rd & 1 situation inside the opponents 5 yard line, Zorn likes to get cute & try to pass for a TD instead of going for the almost sure 1st down with Portis. Seems when Zorn does that it always ends up as an incomplete pass & instead of 7 points, they have to settle for 3.

Great quote from Santana Moss, about why he punched the Seattle DB in the head.

"He was saying something and he was holding me a way I didn't want him to hold me," Moss said. "He wouldn't let go, so I did the best thing I knew at that moment. It wasn't the best decision, but I did it, and I'm glad we don't have to sit here saying that cost the game or anything."

I'm interested in a quote from the refs on why Moss wasn't tossed. It's completely unacceptable to have so blatant a punch thrown 4 feet in front of a ref and the player not ejected. In a close game like that you have to figure that the loss of the team's best WR would change the defensive coverage and maybe give Seattle enough of a boost to win despite them obviously not wanting to. To be clear, I am not complaining or saying that it cost the Hawks the game, they clearly didn't deserve it, but it was blatant and textbook and a huge error on the ref's part, and it could've affected the outcome.I hope the league takes a listen to his "reasoning" for it and acts appropriately.

Is Morris now the starter? Is Julius Jones hurt?
I don't think so. I believe they will still share equal touches the rest of the way unless one gets hurt. I posted a blurb from the Tacoma News Tribune blog earlier this week specifically addressing touches in practice before the WAS game. I wasn't around a computer this morning to bump it, so it was pretty much worthless to anyone. I don't own either play in my league, so I was just posting it because I follow the team and thought it was useful information. I bumped it later today because I felt bad about not getting it back to page one before the game. Of course I get mocked by sweeney, but that's just his style.

Here was the post:

Not that anyone is leaning on either Jones or Morris, but I thought this would interest some Jones owners that were contemplating starting him...

POSITION WATCH

Running back. Holmgren's plan to continue using Julius Jones and Maurice Morris was evident today. Morris got the bulk of the reps in practice because the plays being run were those that feature him.

Jones had 373 rushing yards after four games, in large part because Morris missed three of them with a sprained knee. Since Morris' return, Jones has fallen off the pace to reach 1,000 yards for the season because he has 243 in the past six games.
IMO it looks like they are both bad plays, but this leads me to believe that Jones might be an even worse play considering he saw less touches this week in practice.
