Game Thread W13 - Atlanta V San Diego (1 Viewer)

A lot of horrible calls against the Falcons but they still won, good game.
Definitely had to beat 13 men today (Chargers, Fans and refs). Indefensible turnover calls on the last two, and I still think Turner was in on his first try on that goal line stand. D won that game today, shut SD down in a big way.Credit SD with doing a pretty solid job on stopping Turner in big situations. Our oline is still a bit overrated, and I don't know why we don't run right more, especially with Baker out.But seriously, this should've been 28 to 7 or more if not for some horrific calls by the refs on the turnovers.

Agreed, the D was amazing especially Babineaux. Chargers with all their points off of turnovers... 2 of them on very questionable calls (Finneran and Turner fumble). Falcons need to work on the goal line offense, 6 inches away, give it to Norwood and try to leap in there or at least try a QB sneak... but those are things that can be worked on.

What was your thought on the first play of the SDs goal line stand? I thought he was in.

The ball looked like it crossed the line for a second but we probably would've lost that challenge too. :blackdot:

Well, all's well that ends well, but I was pretty hot on most of those calls, too. Thought both should've been overturned.

He was in. I couldn't believe that they didn't challenge it.

Charger homer here, so obviously i'm biased. I though the Finneran call could have gone either way - if it had been called the other way on the field I think a Charger challenge wouldn't have overturned it either. He had two feet down, and looked to be turning, but it was bang-bang.

I thought the Turner call was poor, but on the local Charger postgame show they showed a replay and the ball was definitely moving before Turner's body hit the ground. It didn't come completely out until Jammer "ripped" it, when Turner was down, but I do think Turner had lost control of the ball before being down.

Even more of a testament to how dominant the Falcons were today to win a game on the road with 3 TO's and 0 takeaways. Hats off to the Dirty Birds.

Classy post. Thumbs up to you.

It is time for SD to start a new RB.
And a new coach. Why weren't we in the hurry-up with 6:00 left in the 4th down by 6? Just lolly-gagging around, using up the entire play clock like we were milking a lead. Effing Norv Turner...Did anyone else catch in the 2nd or 3rd quarter the series where Whitehurst was literally yelling the plays in to Rivers like the helmet wasn't working?Absolutely no sense of urgency, bad play calling, bad execution, and no rhythm on offense whatsoever.Nice game from ATL - they handed us our heads. At least the Falcons equipment guys don't have to wash Ryan's uniform tonight. Guy didnt even get pressured today.
