Game Thread W13 - Atlanta V Washington (1 Viewer)

Well with both DB Shawn Springs and S Troy Vincent inactive Mike Vick might actually be a good play today.

Not really....Lelie, White, and Jenkins will still be covered by that black cloud that has blanketed them for 4 weeks now.

opening drive....a drop, a sack, and nothing from the running game. 4 man rush and Andre Carter got right around Wayne Gandy like he was a turnstile.

Vick walked off the field shaking his right hand that looked like it got hit on the sack.

Same ol' same ol'.

1st & 10 tried a pass, dropped by Crump.

2nd & 10 tried to run with Dunn, stopped for no gain.

3rd & 10 Vick drops back to pass, O'line pass protection breaks down, Vick sacked - (wrist hurt - non throwing hand - seems OK.)

meanwhile, Betts is running downhill well. First 4 plays all Betts

Anyone else notice when they were showing the ATL dropped passes how some of them, although "catchable," were not exactly the easiest passes to catch or very on target? Gee I wonder if that might occasionally contribute to the drops?

yea, a few of those were just very tough catches to make. I guess they were using the old "if it hits your hands you should catch it" rule.

Impossible.

Sideline shot of Mora hanging his head after Crocker allowed the easy TD to mini Moss.

Falcan'ts are in self destruct mode.

All of them involved the receiver getting both hands on the ball.Keep making excuses for the receivers though. If they can only catch perfectly placed balls they have no business in the NFL.

If you watched the play you would've noticed Vick was throwing on the run & while not a perfectly thrown ball to Crump right in the numbers, neither was it one he had to lay out for, or scoop off the turf at his shoe strings, or contort his body backwards for a pass way behind him. That was a catch a Pro has to make. But since they can't the perfectly thrown passes, that do hit them right in the numbers, it's not at all surprising that they can't catch the passes that are just a little off.

Has Novak been officially cut? I see Suisham is getting the EPs today.
No, he's still on roster for today. He sucks worse at kickoffs than he does at FGs.
Is Novak only in for long FG's then, is that the word?
they weren't clear before the game on it. They just said Novak was still on the roster. I can't imagine they'd keep him if he was just going to sit there so I'm assuming he gets a chance to miss at least one more FG before he's back to the scrap heap.

Yeah I figured he was done for good after last week. Thanks for the info.....

It's your own damn fault if you're relying upon Novak for your fantasy kicking needs. They've been cursed with kickers ever since they cut David Akers back in 1998. :wall:
