Game Thread W14 - Dallas V Pittsburgh (1 Viewer)

Obviously, this is thirdhand gossip overheard by my gardener's dentist's neighbor...but FWIWReading on the Stilller homer board that in a post game interview, James Harrison said that after the Cowboys got the ball back with 2 mins left (score tied), they ran the draw play that went for a yard or two, and Pgh called timeout -- Harrison supposedly claims that Romo yelled to the Steelers D: "Why call a time out ? You can't score". Next play, pick-6. :goodposting:
Tony Romo got Matt Hasselbecked by the Pittsburgh defense.

Simmonjim, you bring up an interesting point about Barber/Felix/Choice in a backfield committee. It appears that they're determined to make Barber the bellcow. Felix Jones got hurt because they didn't use him enough. I don't know if they can handle being a pass-happy team while feeding three capable RBs. Something has to give.

It's a Ferrari that will almost always be in the shop because it's too highly-tuned to function without issue for long stretches. Something always breaks. Today it was the All Pro TE.

If you've got a great running game, simply put, you pass less. If you've got an elite or very good QB averaging 20 passes a game or less, you're going to win an awful lot games in this league; it's a sure formula for success. If the Cowboys figure this out, and if their WR's like Owens are more interested in getting a ring than how many touches they get, the sky's the limit. If the Cowboys can play defense like they did tonight, there is nothing to stop this team from being dominant for years to come, IMO.

This is a classic.

Associated Press

PITTSBURGH -- Tony Romo was one play into what he expected to be a game-winning scoring drive and, with Dallas trying to preserve time late in the fourth quarter, couldn't believe it when Pittsburgh called time out.

"He gave us that, 'Who called the timeout? You called the timeout?' " Steelers linebacker James Harrison said. "Yeah, we called the timeout."

1. Down by 10, with 3rd and 16, I figured the game was pretty much over. Then Ben throws a beautiful 47 yard spiral. What a huge play that was; it changed the whole momentum of the game. Of course, the Steelers couldn't punch it in on that drive, but the field position changed; from that point on the Steelers were in scoring position pretty much the rest of the game.
While I agree that play was a momentum changer at thet time, the play of the game, in my mind, was Ryan Clark busting his ### and catching up to Choice on that 50 yard dump off.Choice houses that and the game is over.
