Game Thread W14 - Minnesota V Detroit (1 Viewer)

:horns:

Vikes start the game with a run by Adrian and it's really cold out in South Minneapolis.

Shiancoe catches a first down pass to keep the drive alive. He's been playing well for most of the season.

Peterson owners will be pleased to hear that the Vikings are concentrating on running him often to begin the game. Too bad the Vikes just took a sack on a 3rd down. Punt coming.

Uh, did you see how well Peterson did on that opening drive?

I'm not sure that his first 5 carries of the game are necessarily a predictor as to how Peterson will perform for the remainder of the game.Lions moving the ball. Keary Colbert has found his way on to the Detroit squad which is becoming the land of misfit toys as the season continues.

If the Vikings blow this game that has to be the end of Childress? Right????

I don't understand why you're so overwhelmingly negative about one of the best players in the league, but I wish you'd stop. Last week you said that Peterson was out for the game because he wasn't in on the first drive. This week he has five carries for 14 yards in the Vikings' first nine offensive plays, and you're acting like he's having a terrible game. People read these game threads to find out what's going on in the games, and you don't give information, you give your continued negative opinion about Peterson. I don't care what the reason is for it. I don't post in the Shark Pool enough to know if this is just your shtick or if you're an alias of a poster I like or if you're just a random guy who has been saying that Peterson is overrated all season or a bitter fan. And I don't care. It's not funny, it's not helpful, and you should stop.

In season? I doubt it. After the season, your guess is as good as mine. I hope they make a change to get someone that they really like as opposed to making a change for the sake of change.Lions have the ball in the Red Zone. 3rd offside penalty on the Vikings and it's 1 and goal from the 6.

 That's what everybody asked Week 6. Besides, it's a way too early to consider this. Now, if Minnesota scores less than 21 points before halftime, you might panic...

3rd and goal and the Lions tried the fade pass to the corner of the end zone. "Calvin Johnson", you ask?

Of course not. It was a pass to RB Kevin Smith.

Obviously, the Lions settled for a FG.

Lions 3 - Vikings 0

The commentator said it was a great matchup for the Lions. Obviously not.

Unbelievable. Sharper INT in the endzone probably wouldn't have happened if the Vikes hadn't gone offsides in the first place, but COME ON.

Culpepper looks sharp and the Detroit o-line is opening up holes. They are also giving Culpepper plenty of time to throw

Some nice QBing from Culpepper just now. Stepped right up in the pocket and through some pretty good pressure to deliver a nice pass for a First Down.

Can you make a good posting smilie as big as the whole screen?

Great route by Colbert. He's a freaking force. Pass intended for Calvin Johnson. Johnson collided with Winfield and both were on the ground as the fade pass went off.

Lions have the ball in the Red Zone again. Calvin Johnson was just targeted but his feet tangled with the defender. I was gonna mention that the previous play the Vikes had triple coverage on him. That's tough D for anyone to overcome.

I love it. The commentator states as they are going to commercial that Peterson needs to get started. So, who is on the field on 1st down? Chester Taylor. He just remarked that Peterson isn't getting much playing time.

He's like an H.K. disciple, must be a reverse jinx type thing. Just put him on ignore, its not like he contributes anything to these threads anyway.

Peterson with about a 12 yard run through the heart of the defense. Fumble caused by the ground but this is the second time he's allowed the ball to get away from this game.

AP with deja vu... 2 fumbles in this game too!!

hahaha too funny

too early to say I told ya so on the DET win? Yes, it is, but I will gloat while I can

Wow. There's more Ed-hate here than normal.

Keep your head up buddy. Several weeks of making me seem almost smart brings out the loyalty in me.

Vikings moving the ball into Lions territory. Nice 20 yard pass to Shiancoe who someone noted earlier is playing well.

Facing heavy pressure from the Lions, Frerotte fired a rotten pass behind Berrian forcing 4th down. Longwell coverted the FG.

Lions 6 - Vikings 3

Allen quite injured and quite pissed. It looks like it could be a torn knee ligament. A guy on the ground drove his helmet into Allen's knee as he ran by.

Allen hurt, the Williams' "brothers" about to be suspended...

Where are those Viking fans who said that you can throw in anyone on the DL and still be ok? I'll have to check the DET first win week 14 thread...

Can't blame Allen, as it looks like Cherilus dived to knock him down (away from the play). Allen's knee might have hit Cherilus' helmet
