Game Thread W16 - San Diego V Tampa Bay (1 Viewer)

Horrible day for Bryant so far. Two critical drops force Bucs to punt while his earlier fumble killed a great drive and led to SD's first score.

Bucs actually hold the Chargers when they had to, then drive down the field for a FG to close it to a 7-point deficit. But given only 10 seconds to work with Rivers hits Jackson over the middle for 25 and Kaeding hits a 57-yarder straight down the middle to nullify the Bucs FG.

Looks like the Broncos will have to win later, to win the West today, or else be forced to win at SD next week.

Meanwhile, the Bucs are smack dab in the middle of a December collapse.

Tremendous TD drive by the Bucs to open the 2d half. They got dominated in time of possession in the first half but used over 7 minutes of clock there. Nice mix of plays.

Dierdorf must be going for a rhetorical question record today. Sample: "How difficult is it for a defense to go against a quarterback who can run like that?"

Why is Fox sticking with the Pats-Cards game, which is 38-0 barely into the 3rd quarter instead of switching to this game? Fox is NFC, but with the Bucs in this game, do they have rights to switch to it?

Momentum has totally swung to the Bucs. Nice KO return for SD after the Bucs TD but TB defense forces a three-and-out. Bucs get a few first downs, then Garica scrambles out of trouble and just before he gets crushed he chucks it downfield to Bryant who had gotten behind the defense. Bryant was so open he scored even though he had to stop and wait for the ball to come to him.

They don't. The road team controls which network gets the interconference games. So SD-TB is a CBS game.

That's what I was afraid of. They'll never switch away from PIT/TEN. Oh well.

It's VERY encouraging to see Garcia throwing it deep. It gives me hope that if the Bucs can make the playoffs, they might have a chance at doing something.

Momentum completely swung back to the Chargers. Bucs must score on this drive. Garcia just ran for a key first down. Took a huge hit to the head by Jammer's shoulder. Blood streaming from the bridge of his nose but he popped right back up.

Garcia is the toughest mother effer in the league. Always knew he was tough but this is somethin
