Game Thread W17 - New Orleans V Carolina (1 Viewer)

Carolina is now treating this one as a preseason game, as well -- just went for it on 4th & 10. Did their field position dictate that, or was that a "what the heck" play as the announcers thought?

Saints breaking out the Wildcat! Talk about not putting anything on film for their playoff opponent. :goodposting:

After how poorly they played the last two weeks, including a home loss to a 3-12 team, the Saints should have at least tried to get some momentum back in this game before the playoffs. With not playing again till the middle of January, they will have zero momentum by the time their first playoff game comes around, and their aura of invincibility at home is long gone now.

Stewart is so damn awesome.
I was shocked to see Carolina playing him in a meaningless game.Speaking of meaningless. Mark Brunell by all accounts is a great guy, a very spritual guy, and will make a heck of a QB coach one day. One thing he is not at this time is an NFL Quarterback. He is disgracefully, shockingly bad today, and I would take any other QB in the NFL over him right now as the Saints backup. Brian Brohm? Bring it on. Jamarcus Russel? Makes me tingly compared to Brunell. Watching Brunell makes me want the Saints to see what Kordell Stewart is doing these days.

Just read that J. Stewart left with an Achilles injury. Anyone watching and see that?
He aggravated it. It's been an issue for him since before the season even started. That's why he never practices on Wednesdays. Hopefully they will be able to figure out how to help it heal in the offseason.

As a lifelong Saints fan, I should be thrilled with a 13-3 record and homefield advantage, right? Just not feeling it. I understand the rationale behind resting guys today, but just very disappointed seeing them lay down and entering the playoffs with a 3 game losing streak, especially compared with Minnesota's approach today (though I realize they still have a lot to play for). Here's hoping they find their mojo before their first playoff game!
