Game Thread W2 - Buffalo V Jacksonville (1 Viewer)

God forgive me but I may have to start Matt Jones at WR with the HOU/BAL game being moved and the apparent crappy weather in CLE. Unbelievable. :confused:

I searched and searched and found nothing on this topic. Any idea where the Bills rookies are? Josh Reed getting the start again over Hardy. McKelvin and Hardy didn't see any time at all last week.

On a side note, Edwards already has 2 passes to Evans right now. It looks as though he's going to target him as much as JP did

 
Bills march down 82 yds. Lynch 11 yd TD run after Trent Edwards is 6 for 6. This first drive was very impressive. The Bills came out with short pass completions to soften up the Jags run D. Let's see if the Jags can answer.

 
Holding call puts them at 1st & 20, then a sack for a loss of 10 by Meier who got by RG Butler very quickly and C Fowler couldn't get in front of him. So we run it to Lynch on 2nd & 30 for 1 yard and then give Freddy Jackson a little run. Not much else we could do, backed up deep in our own territory, another sack could be a safety.

 
Is BUF RBBC? Am surprised to see 3 carries for FJax (compared to 4 for Lynch) and 3 receptions for FJaxs too...

They like to mix it up to take advantage of what both RBs bring to the game. But Lynch is the #1 man and he's still going to get a lot of carries.
 
Buffalo brings the blitz, Jax picks it up pretty well, pass to Matt Jones is incomplete and the Jags kick a FG.

Matt Jones seems to be Garrard's favorite target. I was surprised by the box score last week. Looks as though he may be developing the way they had hoped he would

I think FJax will get more carries today because of the heat. They want to lessen the load on Lynch, so he isn't spent in the fourth quarter.
 
FYI, that 33 yard pass to Freddy Jackson, for those who weren't watching, Lynch was on the field, he stayed back to block, a key to that play otherwise it would've been a sack.

 
Offense is clicking again, that Jackson completion was key. Lee Evans hasn't been targetted on this drive, seems like they're picking on whoever is covering Josh Reed. He's no where near being a threat as a WR so I know he isn't making a mismatch by his ability.

 
13 carries, 11 passes. Wow, last year it was like 13 carries, 1 pass. Amazing what some good playcalling can do.

Lynch down to the 2 or 3 yard line. 3rd & goal. Fake toss to Jackson, nobody is open, getting chased, throws it up at the back corner of the endzone into double coverage but pass is too high. Pass interference on Marshawn Lynch?

Edwards 1st incompletion of the game.

 
Bills not wrapping up. Hit Taylor in the backfield with an arm tackle, and instead of a loss its a 4-5 yard gain. Garrard takes off and pushes the pile past the 1st down marker... a friggin QB.

The LG,C,RG are replacements for the Jags and they're doing pretty good.

 
Garrard hit as he threw by Posluszny. If he hadn't have been chipped by some blockers it would have been an ugly hit.

Next play Garrard throws, Marcedes Lewis sliding as the ball gets to him and drops it, punt.

For a while he was throwing to Matt Jones, now he's mixing it up but early on he had at least 2 passes to him, I think 3 though.

 
Josh Reed can't hang onto a 3rd down pass that was a little high & seemed he wasn't in good position. Punting...

Pass to Northcutt, pass to Reggie Williams who spins out of a tackle. Pass to Marcedes Lewis inside the 30. Hurry up is smoking them, timeout with 0:49 left in the half

 
Pass to Mojo, Bills bring the blitz, Garrard scrambling and gets the 1st down but doesn't go out of bounds. Jax calls their last T.O. with 14 seconds left and ball on the 11. Pass intended for #81 and it's intercepted in the endzone by Terrence McGee.

He's gotten some passes out of the backfield. I could have SWORN he got a few carries. Maybe not.. Doesn't seem to matter, they can't do much in the run game. They were passing very well at the end of the half, the most effective way for them to move the ball.
 
Looks like I picked up the wrong Jones today. Greg is the one I needed to replace that hole in my lineup left by the cancellation of the Houston/Baltimore game.

 
He just got a carry and the defender grabbed his facemask and spun the helmet all the way around his head. MJD on the sdielines now getting looked at. Seems ok.

 
Doesn't look good for MJD.

Shoe and sock off on the sideline checking out that ankle.
