What happened? Gamecast has a TD by Carolina (Colbert on the fumbled kickoff) but under review.

Nick Goings was returning, got hit and fumbled, ball goes bouncing back into the endzone and couple of Texans fall on it.

Weird. Originally CBS had Colbert picking it up and returning it 100 yards for a Carolina TD.

Not even close to what happened.

Defense can advance the ball on a fumble anytime. Offense cannot on fourth down or with less than two minutes.

im not talking about advancing the ball. the ball was heading out of bound... a defensive player hit the ball forward into the endzone to keep it from going out of bounds and then a different defensive player recovered in the endzone.

He played well as a nickel or dime, but he's clearly overmatched as a fulltime starting corner. The Colts game next week could be nasty.

I guess I don't see why it would be an issue; it's in the defensive team's interest to keep the ball inbounds. Why would/should there be a rule against it?

IIRC. Went up high, caught the ball, turned and took a defensive player square in the chest.

Just hit hard, I'd say. I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express or anything but I think he'll be fine.

Both.

They just showed him on sideline, no trainers near him, he is going to be fine IMO. But, you never know.

Everybody was trying to strip the ball instead of tackling him. Great job by Smith of keeping the play alive. He's a gamer.
