Game Thread W2 - Houston V Carolina (1 Viewer)

can a defensive player hit the ball into the endzone on a fumble, and have another player recover it for a TD? something didn't seem right there...

Now, I thought the Texans would be much better than last year, but after going down 14-0 in the first I figured they'd lose. This is just completely unexpected.

Defense can advance the ball on a fumble anytime. Offense cannot on fourth down or with less than two minutes.

im not talking about advancing the ball. the ball was heading out of bound... a defensive player hit the ball forward into the endzone to keep it from going out of bounds and then a different defensive player recovered in the endzone.

yeah i know what you're talking about and i brought it up here in the house but it would have to be obvious

They're looking at Ahman Green's left knee/shin. He ran off the field limping just a bit so it doesn't look too serious.

So? That's perfectly legal.

I guess I don't see why it would be an issue; it's in the defensive team's interest to keep the ball inbounds. Why would/should there be a rule against it?

I was just about to post that Carolina was putting together a nice drive here and Foster promptly fumbles it away.

Ahman Green was just shown standing on the sidelines. Looks fine. Just using Dayne to try and run down the clock.

Delhomme very nearly picked off again.

Edit: Sacked by Anthony Maddox. Smothering coverage by the Texans.
