Game Thread W2 - New England V NY Jets (1 Viewer)

Looks like Brett can't let go of the Green and gold....can see gold trim on his pads or something under the collar of that jersey..

Favre has targeted Cotchery 3 times in the first 2 possessions, including once in the end zone. I think he has only targeted Coles once, and Coles dropped what would have been a first down throw.

So far all of Cassel's passes have been short underneath stuff. Hopefully they'll let him open it up as the game goes on. No mistakes by him so far.

cassel digs welker...interesting.
He will be ok since Cassel keep looking for him. Welker is the one will have huge drop.
This is crazy talk? If anything Cassel doesn't have the split second decision making Brady has and will find himself in a position of dumping the ball off more. I think it's safe to say if anyone has a significant drop it won't be Welker. And when I say drop I am talking projections for this year with Brady not a comparison to what he did last year. I honestly think the offense is still going to chug along. Cassel is talented and Brady will be there to coach him.

Cassel isn't even looking at Moss right now... not good
I think he is taking what is there now. Any QB on an NFL roster knows he needs to get the ball to Moss. It will come but he won't force it.
He just needs to get his confidence in his first start. They're calling conservative plays and Cassel is looking good. No need to come in here and toss up 50 yard bombs yet. If Moss is covered there's other places to go. But I will maintain what I said earlier. The drop off will be with Moss, not Welker.

Wow, great pass from Favre to Coles and great run after by Coles, who limped off after. Then another great pass from Favre to Stucki, he put it low where it had to be.

Then Leon Washington just made Harrison look like a rookie, juking him to turn a probable loss into a nice gain.

Whatever. Let's see what the Jets kicker can do...
:hey: Feeley a sneaky play today?

Are the Jets forcing the Patriots to pass? Or simply stacking the box on Maroney and company? This certainly doesn't look promising...

Cassel took a hit and is grabbing his kneecap. He stayed in for the next play.

Did anybody catch what they said about Maroney? I missed it.

Jets DL playing well, better than I expected. Often Cassel has a ton of time but, the Pats keep getting nowhere running the ball.

Leon Washington is such a wasted talent on the Jets. It's nice to see them use him today.
It's nice to see the Jets stadium filled with fans for a change even though they are kinda quiet.
One doesn't know the sound level in the stadium unless the announcers/TV crew let ya know. It's not usually much of an issue that they talk about til some big 3rd down. At 6-3, I don't think there were many huge 3rd downs yet. I've never been to a quiet Jets game. That fireman is weird but he gets em' fired up and loud.

Yeah, never seen a crowd react to one guy like that.

The Patriots are still one of the best teams in football. They're not going to roll people, but I predict they will find ways to win a lot of games this year. They will win their division and go deep in the playoffs, and be a tough out.
