Game Thread W2 - New Orleans V Washington (1 Viewer)

I'm benching Brees, but i have to admit that I got kinda pumped up watching him get his team going on FOX just now.

Brees will probably have a pretty good day today. 2 Redskin safeties are inactive (Doughty and Moore) and Marcus Washington is inactive. I get the feeling this is the long slow fade into the sunset for Marcus Washington. He can't stay healthy.

How bad is the NO rush D?
They played reasonably well last week except for a breakdown that allowed Graham to rip off 40 yards. The line is playing much better with the rookie DT Sedrick Ellis, but losing OLB Scott Fujita hurts bad. I'd expect Portis to approach 100.

Who are you starting ahead of Brees!? Even with Colsten out, the guy is top QB, he put up 340+yds with Colsten doing nothing last week..... Just curious.

Apparently Sean Payton got a new 5-year contract that makes him one of the highest paid coaches in the NFL.

That's a lot to invest in a guy who literally cost the Saints a playoff berth with his play calling last year. Hope this isn't a repeat of the Haslett years.

I expect the Redskins to get burned on several long plays today. I don't think they'll hold NO under 24 points. So their offense will have to work to be in the game. I'd expect there to be more running room for Portis today and a good day from him. The passing game ---- who the hell knows? I do think Malcolm Kelly will make a significant catch in the red zone today.

And there you have it, from the Expert of Nothing.

Go Skins.

Campbell just missed Randle El who was open 20 yards downfield. You'll see that play again.

Good blitz by NO, good job by Campbell getting rid of the ball.

Chris Horton starting at safety, almost comes up with a deflected pass. Saints forced to punt, except for that pesky roughing penalty by Carlos Rogers.

Landry gets an INT on a play that is called back. That's 2 bad defensive penalties on this drive, which isn't a drive at all except for the penalties.

That was a VERY quick-hitting reverse to S. Moss, resulting in a big gain.

Redskins lead 3-0 in timeouts and 1-0 in missed FG's. Meanwhile they called that play to Randle El again resulting in a first down. That play will be open all day.

Suisham hits a FG now that the Skins got close enough to suit him.

So far the game has been all Washington. Not dominating, but having the ball most of the time.

Redskins look faster in white. And I would not want to be in a black jersey today. It is well over 90 here today.
