Game Thread W2 - Oakland V Baltimore (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
Welcome to Week 2

Once the game kicks off this thread will be pinned, but for now it will run on its own merits.

Please provide your thoughts, pre, during and after the game.

Remember that not everyone will be watching this game, so if you could provide detailed analysis it would be much appreciated. ***PLEASE BE CIVIL***

Things like 'Go Reggie' aren't what we are looking for.

Why will team X win?

Who is the QB targetting?

How are the lines looking?

Who's running the ball well?

Who looks in over his head?

Who's injured (also reference this in the injury thread which will be created once the sunday games are live)

Anything that you think will be of benefit to someone not watching the game or who doesn't care about your fantasy team.

Post game analysis, in particular is what we want to see.

Go for it

I'm going to keep the kids away from the TV if this game is on. They should but a disclaimer before the game "Certain images are suitable for children" ... it's going to be a blood bath!

Teams are never quite as good or as horrible as they look in week 1.

If you just looked at week 1, the Ravens would be favored by 50 points this week.

I expect the Raiders to make some adjustments after last week. I look for them to run the ball more [Jordan had 10 rushes for 20 yards last week], mix in some shorter drops/routes.

It's not yet clear that the Raven's D is back, although they were fearsome in week 1. I don't expect Oakland to look as hapless as they did against SD, but they'll still get dominated this week.

Baltimore 20-10

Agreed. I think Oakland's best chance for success is to at least give the appearance that they want to run & try to use play action to get the ball deep. If they're having to go shotgun or have a bunch of 3 & longs, Brooks is going to be looking at the Baltimore sky a whole lot. For the Ravens, I want to see 40+ rushes (I know - everyone says that). I try to stay away from too much psychological stuff in sports, but I think the Raiders could get demoralized fairly easily if Baltimore gets a decent lead & starts pounding the ball. We'll see how much heart & leadership Oakland has today.

I'm picking the Ravens 17-6.

We get one AM game here in the great northwest. Why did they put this one on?? It'll be entertaining for the first 2 drives, then it'll be over. May as well watch the "shopping network" after that. LOL

Ref's are trying to make a game out of it. they know we'll all change the channel after the first ravens score.

That's hillarious they held them to a field goal.
To be perfectly accurate the Ravens Held thenmselves to a Field Goal.(10:58) Mu.Smith left guard for 1 yard, TOUCHDOWN NULLIFIED by Penalty. PENALTY on BLT-M.Flynn, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at OAK 1 - No Play.

raiders defense plays with some emotion. I feel sorry for them having to support that offense.

This game should have only been televised in oak and balt. I feel like I"m watching a dirrect tv ad or something.

LOL you call this football? Its a slaughter. There's at least 4 other games on that would have been more interesting than this one.

LOL another train wreck.

Wow, Brooks really does stink. 2 fumbles and not even a pass attempt so far. Can't imagine Moss is dealing with this too well. Glad I benched Moss today.

Yeah, the D seems solid and offense continues to put them in really tough situations... but, honestly, as terrible as their offense has looked, I rather have a very good D and terrible offense, than vice versa. It's possible the offense becomes serviceable as the season progresses and they could be decent then... But now, this is terrible to watch.

Oakland appears to be stopping the run well on a short field. They've held Baltimore to three field goals which has to be considered a victory at this point. The Ravens offense doesn't look very good either, some success with the short passing game.

How about this point....

THREE red zone opps for the Ravens... and they can't punch it in vs a deflated Raider team????!!!!

Effing hell! I benched Stover this week because the reports sounded like he was recovering from leg amputation-reattachment surgery. :wall:

Oh well, there's my boy Walter! Let's go Drooooooooooooooooo!! :D At least don't suck like Brooks.
