Feels pretty strange to be watching my Browns in the limelight of a captive TV audience on prime time. Its been too long. The last time was December 8th, 2003. They went 5-11 that season after making the playoffs at 9-7 in 2002. They lost at home to the Rams, 26-20.
The appearance before that was in 1995, a 20-3 loss @ the Steelers. Before that was a 1995 22-19 loss at home vs the Bills. You have to go back to Week 2 of 1993, September 13th, to find the last Browns win, 23-13 at home vs the Steve Young / Ricky Watters 49ers. Belichick beat the team that would lose in the NFC title game to the Cowboys, 38-21.
Tonite's game has great significance in the storied rivalry of the Steelers and Browns per Yahoo:

The clubs have met 110 times in the regular season, and both have won 55 times. The Browns dominated this rivalry in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1980s. The Steelers have dominated it in the 1970s, 1990s, and 2000s. Three decades apiece. All tied up. They have met twice in postseason. The Steelers won both wild card games in 1994 and 2002.
The Browns themselves are at a bit of a crossroads. After 3 years and 1 game under Butch Davis, they won 22 games. After 3 years + 1 game under Savage / Crennel, they've only won 20. They need to win. The fans nor the organization can be expected to be patient forever.
