Game Thread W3 - Cleveland V Baltimore (1 Viewer)

Good luck today, Browns fans. I think Cleveland may be in for a tough day, though if Flacco plays like he did last week it could get ugly for the Ravens.

Anyway, my jinx of the week: Baltimore 27-9

The John Harbaugh-led Ravens have only lost once in the regular season to a team that didn't make the playoffs that year (Steelers last year).

If he's been successful at any one thing, it's that they don't lose focus against teams that they should beat.

Wow... rookie wanting to run with the pick-6 a little too early. Only the Browns can turn that into a positive gain for the Ravens.

Go Cleveland!

I like how Hillis fights for the extra yards. But if he lets the Ravens stand him up like that all game, they're gonna strip him eventually.

Nice drive by Cleveland. Hillis did most of the damage, but there were two nice passes to Watson & Cribbs.

Well... 3 and out from our defense, and nice drive for a FG. About all we could have hoped for to start the game.

I still don't think the Browns are as bad as most people think, but it'll be tough to keep this up all game vs Baltimore.

Pretty TD to Boldin. Nice drive, but I want Baltimore to do more to establish the run. Sometimes I think Cam gets a little too cute.

Yeah... but if Flacco's gonna have all day to throw it, might as well let him. Especially if you're going to have plays with Boldin being covered by Mike Adams. :bag:

You're right....and Can knows a helluva lot more about playcalling than I do.

Naw... I was really just commenting how we're not getting any pressure on Flacco at all.

Hillis is such a load.

Most of the fantasy 'sharks' on here seem to think that we should be force-feeding Harrison or maybe Davis. I don't think they've ever watched them run.

### ####IT what kind of coverage was that for the last 3 plays! Boldin had no one within 10 yards of him THREE TIMES IN A ROW!

Rice looking good - about 50 rushing and maybe 5 receiving

Boldin - 2 TDs and several catches for 60-odd yds

Flacco - looks like rehab worked

Heap - 2 nice receptions

Hillis just pounding the middle of the Ravens D

ETA, just ran over & carried Landry for about 15 yards

Glad to see Davis in since I had to play him in a Zealots league. There's not enough :bag:s in the world to explain it.

Lewis and Alstott were both 'nifty' in the hole... they could make people miss even while driving north-south. Haven't seen that yet from Hillis. But I see the analogy.

Hillis can get 3 yards every time. If there is a hole, he gets at least 5. No need to juke or jive.Touchdown.

Nice drive by Cleveland to answer. If Baltimore had scored again, it may have gotten away from the Browns before halftime.

Also worth saying (from a fantasy perspective)... left side of the Browns offensive line is looking like it did last late last year. Getting lots of movement against a very good Baltimore D.

I sure hope Hillis works out for me long term this season. I'm so desperate for a RB (actually starting Portis ahead of him, so I'm not getting this week's production...).

I made a thread about trading Hillis this week. I was obviously wrong on that call.
Still too early to know whether this changes the RBBC at all... Harrison is out this week, after all. And Mangini will be as inscruitable as ever I'm sure. But the fact that the offensive line seems to have woken up makes this a more interesting fantasy situation.

As a Rice owner, I've got to say I'm way more concerned by this game than the first two.

And the reason I say that is Rice is basically getting chunks of yardage every time he carries the ball and they're just not really feeding him. 11 carries through almost three quarters vs. 19 pass attempts by Flacco.

Everyone believed the Ravens would become more of a passing offense, but this is kind of confirming they're morphing into a pass first offense.

And given the fact that McGahee steals most of the goalline TDs, Rice's value going forward is certainly going to be well below where he was drafted.

Disagree. The Browns secondary is playing really badly. It makes sense to attack that as much as possible. Nothing to do with Rice.

I tend to agree about this still being a RBBC. If nothing else, Hillis runs so hard that it would be dangerous to give him a full load week after week. What I meant was, it will be easier to get value for Hillis this coming week.

Despite the good production from Boldin and Rice, the Ravens are not putting up the points and Cleveland is hanging around and winning the time of possession. If Cleveland continues to hang around, the could get a play that turns the game in their favor.

46 yard scamper for Hillis + Unnecessary roughness penalty. Not bad.

Talking heads say he now owns the record for Browns rushing vs Ravens by a lot.

Too many 3 and outs this half to claim that the Browns secondary isn't any good. Rice is averaging 5.75 per carry, they need to give him the ball and stop trying to be something they aren't. Yes, this is a post from a Rice owner, so I am biased.

Nice open field tackle by a 330 lb NT on Ray Rice. I lol'd.

On the penalty... I honestly thought Smith was just drawn across from the false start, then they got started. I didn't see him trying to fight at first, just starting his rush. Maybe that's the Browns homer in me talking.
