Game Thread W3 - Jacksonville V Indianapolis (1 Viewer)

On 3rd and 14 Anthony Gonzales catches the ball a yard beyond the first down line - but skips back a couple of yards to try and dodge a tackle and is brought down short of the first down, and the Colts are forced to punt.

I'm a biased MJD owner, but this is reminescent of SDP last year...yeah, Taylor looks ok, but MJD looks great...Jags really outthinking themselves by takig MJD off the field as much as they have/do

Manning does not look good today. He overthrew Harrison earlier on a long bomb where Harrison would have waltzed into the end zone for an easy TD, and he just threw a bad ball that was picked and returned for a TD.

 1:20 left in the half and the Jags let the clock expire without attempting to try and go down the field to score. The Jags are scared to pass the ball. Garrard has completed 4 passes and all of them are to MJD.

Jags are something like 9/12 on third downs. Colts have run 6 offesnive plays in the 2nd half approaching the two-minute warning. Colts have now given up four 100-yard rushing games in their first three games (both Jags RBs over 100 today).

Jaguars have a 3rd down coming up on a 12-minute drive that has taken up almost all of the 4th quarter. If they score a TD here, they probably win. If not, the Colts can win it with a TD, but their offense, which has been out of synch for much of the day, has got to be ice cold.

MJD looks awesome too, but he sure does take a beating. Been slow to get up the last few times he's run it.

Eh, I don't know about that 3rd down play. I think the Jags should have at least taken a shot at the end zone, but I guess they wanted to make Indy burn their 2nd TO. FG attempt coming up...

3rd and goal from the five and they give it to a guy who will never be mistaken for a goal line pounder. Horrible call. Jesus Christ.

I think you have to go for it on fourth down there. I understand the goal of forcing Indy to go for the end zone, but

1) If you get the TD, it's game over.

2) If you don't get the TD, they're pinned back inside their own 5, maybe further.

3) If you don't get the TD, Indy still needs to get the field goal on this drive just to tie it, so the pressure is still on them, but with worse field position

4) If you make the field goal, and Indy scores, you've used up all of the time on the clock to get back in the game, and you're not built for the quick score

If you're Jacksonville, now, every second that Indy takes off the clock makes it that much harder for you to get a field goal if Indy DOES score. With one timeout left, you pretty much banked the whole game on your ability to stop a touchdown on this one drive, and here they are knocking on the door. Indy can run the ball now from first and goal, but Jacksonville has to worry about the clock.

Oops, Jacksonville does have all three TOs. At this point, Garrard has 1:07 left to drive them up the field for a field goal. This is a pretty huge kick return coming up.

Which would you rather have banked the most important game of your season on, your ability to score a TD, or Scobee's ability to hit a 51 yarder?

Very good game. I didn't think Jax could drive down and win but they got that penalty and they just dinked and dunked down the field and garrard did a nice job. Jones Drew and taylor just killed the Colts who can't stop the run.

pass interference call on the last drive for running straight into a stationary back and the lack of one on the jags interception return is the difference...oh and i guess the colts putrid defense too

I don't care how good your QB is, if you have 2 guys rush for over 100 yards against your defense, you deserve to lose. The AFC is in shambles, there might be 5 teams in the NFC that's better than the best AFC team.

Scobee, all day every day. The guy has a cannon masquerading as a leg. I still remember the 63 yard attempt he had in Pittsburgh that missed wide left; more than enough leg, just wide left.
