Game Thread W3 - Jacksonville V NY Jets (1 Viewer)

Guess I'm the only one watching this game...Anyways, Jets score on Sowell rushing TD from the 1 yard line. Pennington had some nice throws on that series, even if they weren't all complete. It looks like his shoulder is better this game.Jags 10 Jets 7

Sure thing... :) Jets kicked off ball, Jags at around their own 40. Doesn't look like Jags are interested in moving the ball to try to get a field goal before halftime. Each team has a TO left. It's 3rd and 12 for Jacksonville.

 
Chris Hanson punts. Jets muff the punt, but Jets still recover. It's Jets ball, but there is a penalty. Jets accept and make Jacksonville punt again. They punt again and Miller (NY) with a 3 yard return. Jets ball inside their 20. 1st and 10. Martin gets 15 yard run. 23 sec left.

 
Why don't the Jags try to score with a buck 50 left? :hot: :hot: :hot: :hot:

I don't know why they settled to run down the clock. Jets had TOs and used them to get the ball back. But the Jags D held and Jacksonville got the ball back. They went for the last second hail mary from the 50 yard line to the endzone. It was up for grabs but no one came down with it.
 
Jets O-line looked like junk on 2nd down. Jags strip Pennington of the ball but a Jets player falls on it. Loss of 5. On 3rd down, Pennington loses the ball again, but falls on it. Jags credited with a sack. There was no O-line protection on that entire series. Looked bad. Punt by the Jets. Fair catch Jags inside ther 40.

 
All out blitz by the Jets!! LEFTWICH getting sacked and loses the ball on his way down. James Reed (Jets) recovers the ball and runs for 33 yard fumble return for a TD.TOUCHDOWN JETS...........Jets 14 Jags 10

 
That was the 1st turnover of the year for the Jags.12:12 left in 3rd quarter.Now Jags ball at their own 20 after short kickoff return.

 
Nice pass from Leftwich to Reggie Williams for 16 yards. 1st down.Daaaang, that was nice throw. Had tons of zip on it. It was a bullet. Leftwich getting hit A LOT. The guy's tough.

 
Another nice ball from Leftwich for 14 yards to Ernest Wilford. Leftwich had a lot of time on that play. 1st down Jags on Jets 28.

 
Draw play to Pearman. Nice running that play. 3rd and 4. Leftwich pass knocked away from Jimmy Smith. 4th and 4.FIELD GOAL GOOD by Scobee.Jets 14 Jags 13

 
Is Jimmy Smith playing? Haven't seen him targeted recently...

He's playing but drawing a lot of coverage. Leftwich hitting open Wilford and Williams as a result of the coverage. Jimmy Smith was targeted on the last play before the field goal for what could've been about a 10 yard pickup, but ball knocked out as Jimmy was pulling it in.
 
barrett just had a picture perfect D play blocking away a Smith pass. It's been spread out between Williams, Wilford and Jones. I don't think either has too many yards yet

 
Pennington replace by Fiedler. They said it could be due to shoulder bothering Pennington.

or the fact that he has neem awful all year - wonder if it is a benching? No Drs around Chad!edited - just said strained shoulder - quest return

Jags muff punt but recover it. 53 yard punt. Jags ball on their 19. They keep showing Pennington on the sidelines. He doesn't look injured. Commentators say he has a strained shoulder. Return questionable.

Pennington on sidelines tossing the ball around. He is grimacing a little as he throws. I doubt he'll be back in the game.
 
Leftwich looks to Wilford again. Incomplete. They'll punt. Again, Jimmy Smith not targeted on that play by Leftwich.
