Game Thread W3 - New Orleans V Buffalo (1 Viewer)

When healthy Thomas is the best back on this team, Im glad to see him finally get his hands on the ball

Also, Im pretty impressed with the Saints D so far in this game. I expected the offense to struggle some being on the road for the 2nd straight week and playing in a tough enviroment in Buffalo but I did not expect the D to be as solid as they have been

The 3 headed monster will be alive and well when Bell returns. Enjoy the points guys.
Pierre Thomas is far and away the Saints best RB, no?
He and Bell are pretty even. They will play for carries in full competition when both are healthy. Folks dismissed Bell but he has just as much talent as PT. He moves the pile better than PT which makes me think he will get goal line love over PT. Thomas is good though.
Probably the best answer to this question I have seen. Obviously you have neither on your fantasy team.

I am just repeating what Sean Payton has said and that is the way it will be folks. Competition will be good for both backs and will drive them to make the most of the carries they do get. Sean Payton knows what he is doing.

with the way Thomas is running in the second half, not sure why the Saints took so long to start handing him the ball in this game.
Fresh legs on a worn out defense?
I guess that's part of it, but he's clearly better than Hamilton. I'm not sure this game would have been as close if they had been running the ball more early on. Bills were focused heavily on Brees and the passing game so I'm sure there were openings that he could have taken advantage of.btw, 0 catches for TO. get your popcorn ready.

Yeah Hamilton just barely beat out PJ Hill to make the final roster. He is still young and can improve significantly

Same timid garbage every year. Don't go for 4th and 1 down by two scores. Dump off to a RB on 4th and very long. Barely challenge downfield with TO and Evans. I'm not even a Bills fan and it still nauseates me to see.

Well, if anyone could kill Owens' remarkable streak of games with a reception, it's **** Mauron and Captain Checkdown. Sigh. Outstanding playcalling as usual - - luckily Jim Zorn is (temporarily) around so that Mauron can't be accused of being the worst in that category in the NFL.

PT with another garbage TD. Not sure how I avoided playing against him in all leagues.

Darren Sharper - - great defensive player.

Fresh legs on a worn out defense?
talk coming in was that he's still not 100% healthy
After all the preseason talk with Bush hurting, I'm not so sure Payton made it seem like he was not 100%.
No Pierre was definitely banged up, he was even limping around last week vs the Eagles

I think Thomas is the best of the 3 (or 4 if you wanna count Hamilton) but from a fantasy standpoint I wouldnt really want to own any of them because theyre going to be rotated and switched around regularly based on packages, situations, and who has the hot hand. Payton loves to manipulate personnel and constantly rotate on offense and I dont think any of these guys are going to be consistently putting up great numbers

Okay, trying to diagram this. You're not so sure - - so you in fact do not think - - that Payton made it seem - - as though PT was not at 100%. Maybe if I go backwards. PT was not at 100%. Payton perhaps made it seem that way? No, you say - - you don't think so. Uhhhh . . . got it. :coffee:

Coming into this week? He certainly looks 100% to me.

pierre thomas owners now face the ultimate conundrum. try to sell him high and possibly regret it or keep him and possibly regret it.

i don't know what i'm going to do.

Keep him and enjoy the numbers. You can thank me later.

There's a reason PT was going as high as he was in drafts. People saw the talent he had and the #'s he put up last year. He came out today and reaffirmed all of that. The ONLY reason Bell ever saw the field was an injury to Thomas. Even if it's a 3 headed RBBC to start with when all are healthy, eventually the best RB will earn the touches. That RB is Pierre Thomas.

Blacked out locally.Either the game didn't sell out, or Ralph Wilson is actively trying to make me a Steelers fan.
Game wasn't blacked out here. It's been sold out for awhile. Might just be because Ithaca is out of range?

Now the question becomes, do you start Pierre against the vaunted Jets defense in NawLeans?

Personally I am bullish on Thomas and am leaning that way...

Defense played great. They did all you could ask for against the best offense in the league.

Sean Payton outcoached **** Jauron today, no question. I don't necessarily think Jauron is THAT bad, but it was really evident today. Just outworked and outcoached.

I'm almost done with Terrell Owens. With him chewing out assistant OC Eric Studesville on the sideline and giving up on the routes when he wasn't the primary target, etc....he needs to stop being a #####. Flat out. ####### man up. You think Evans is pissed? Of course he is. Is he out there #####ing and throwing temper tantrums when he's not thrown the ball? I don't think so.

I watched Owens exclusively for a good deal of the game. When he's not the primary receiver, he barely even runs his routes. By the 4th quarter, it was so evident when the ball was coming his way because he'd actually run a route. I remember distinctly a Bills playaction. It was clear Owens wasn't the primary target....he just put his head down and jogged downfield listlessly. Well, Edwards was forced out of the pocket to his side, and Owens would've been wide the #### open had he turned around. Edwards held it, waiting for Owens to break it back towards the QB. He never did, and Edwards threw an incompletion to a covered Derek Fine.

Give the Saints some credit though, they took Evans and TO (especially TO) out of the game. Even when they played Greer and Porter 5-8 yards off the line, they played a LB in the flats, essentially doubling the two of them.

It takes a lot to make us boo, but I think all 70,000+ people were booing after that punt on 4th and 1 down 17-7.Come on, ****...the defense has been on the field for like 35 minutes. They've played great, sure, but what are you expecting? They're gassed.....but they're going to stop the Saints?

Exactly. I don't mind losing to the Saints, because frankly they're better than us right now. But I do mind giving up when the game is winnable.

It was standard Jauron in the postgame interview too...he talked about how he didn't think it was in our best interests to give them the ball at our own 30....which is right. Unfortunately, the Saints were at our 30 3 plays after we punted, with 5 minutes left on the clock instead of 7...

While I agree with a good part of what you're saying, I think a healthy Bush really hurts Thomas. He has to get a few carries and he will get 90 percent of the pass targets. That was a pretty decent chunk of Thomas' value down the stretch last year.
