He looked good. He lined up wide and took a hitch up the sideline. Nice drive for the 9ers. Had the Steelers on their heels a little. Smith just missed Davis for a TD... well, Davis needed to look for the ball sooner and it was possibly six. Nice drive, settled for 3.
Nice opening drive for the 49ers -- a couple of 3rd down conversions, a long completion to V. Davis. 3-0 SF.

Nice trade pick up the final week of preseason.

Not sure who #25 on the Niners is but he had an angle on Rossum -- and then Rossum put it in high gear and blew past him.
Steelers D was pumped up on that series -- three and out for the Niners.
Parker looked great there -- Roethlisberger ran right into the pressure and fumbled, though.
Whenever Smith is accurate, V. Davis is hauling them in so far.

Yep -- looked like Polo was blitzing the run all the way. He barely looked at Smith.FG SF - 7-6.

Either the Niner's D is better than we thought, or the Pitt O-line is horrible. Lots of running plays are getting first hits in the backfield. If SF knew how to wrap, Pitt would be in trouble.

TD Tuman. Steelers TE2 continues to be the primary target in the red zone. That's the first decent drive for the Steelers all day.
It's mostly the Steelers o-line but the defensive scheme is pretty good, too. Willis particularly is showing off his speed and playing solid ball.1huskerfan said:

No selling short here, the Niners pretty much owned the first half of football. The last 2:00 was the only time the Steelers offense looked good. Parker had a couple of flashes but that's it.Traditionally, though, the Steelers line takes about 4-5 weeks to really gel, and this season there's much more transition than usual.

i know it just came back from half time, but WHERE ARE ALL THE FANS???? 2 stadium shots and the seats looked at best half full. Did something happen at halftime???
That one's going to be overturned. Slight chance they might call a push out of bounds but I'm thinking they'll reverse it.

Is Gore hurt? I saw the backup RB in there in the last 49er drive of the first half.
I don't think so -- they've been mixing in Robinson. They're about to start their first drive of the second half, though, so I'll let you know.
Gore for 11 yards on the first play. He looks fine.
