Game Thread W3 - Tennessee V NY Jets (1 Viewer)

Nice job by the Houston Oilers defensing a screen to Leon on the first play.

Washington picked up the first on a nice run the next play (gained 3+yards after getting hit/wrapped up).

Next 2 plays were play action to Keller and another first down to Cotchery out of the shotgun.

Quick hitter to Jericho next...just doing whatever they want to early on.

 
Oh baby is it breaking the Jets way this year.

Great hit on the kickoff and the kid recovered the fumble to boot.

Man they are a juggernaut right now.

Tennessee must be seriously deflated right now.

0-14 and 0-2.

How about keeping Mark Jones (proven return guy) instead of pretending Special Teams don't matter, we'll just let the rookies handle it.

He's been in a few times, but Leon started and has been heavily featured.ETA: Actually touches are Jones 6, Leon 5

Anyone see that play on 2nd down... Kerry Collins incomplete pass to FB Hall in the flat... Chris Johnson stays into block.

Sometimes the Oilers playcalling drives me crazy. WHY is the 200 lb fastest player on the field blocking, while the slow 260 lb FB is getting targeted in the flat???

 
Anybody who follows Mike Hermann's punt/kickoff return thread knows the BIGGEST mystery of final cutdowns was letting Mark Jones go. Can't wait to hear Fisher talk about how his rookies are handling their responsiblities.

 
INT Kerry Collins. I'm thinking if the Titans go 0-3 that his leash becomes much shorter, especially if management is undecided about paying Vince Young a lot of money next year.

Yes, lots a drops, but still Kerry Collins just lacks. I'm not saying Vince Young is better, but if the team is going nowhere fast, I see no harm in giving Collins a gold watch.

He hasn't been a problem. In fact now that they have playmakers(albeit at times no clue how to use em') he's looked even better at times. Their DL without Haynesworth is more athletic-types when maybe they need some bulky 350 pound grady jackson type DTs for first down. Otherwise, I'm fine with the DL.The CB position opposite Finnegan is just killing them, it's brutal.I think the o-line and whole offense in general still needs to run Lendale some and do some smashmouth work for their mindset to be right. CJ has been outstanding but pound a bruising RB a handful of times still, don't forget that option.Jared Cook still hasn't done squat and Scaife's been out. In their O those are at least part A or B of their main passing option.Nothing in any game has led me to think Kerry is the problem. They played the Steelers well and lost. Not many issues with that game. The O scored 30 some odd points the next week. They are probably at best a wildcard team now. They're going to need a QB with playoff experience and Kerry has tons.
