Game Thread W4 - Arizona V NY Jets (1 Viewer)

Coles with a critical catch for a first down. Favre is really looking to him nonstop today. Favre still with a bit of an ankle injury, but he seems to be dropping back fine, and he's still passing.

Cotchery for another one! Is it just me or does it seem like Cotchery gets almost all of his points in the fourth quarter of every game?

how big of a fine for the helmet to helmet hit?whats the standard for that?
If it was a helmet to helmet that knocked out Boldin, you can expect a suspension. Goodell just sent out a notice to all teams about a week ago that plays that endanger the safety of other players are going to be punished at a much higher level.

Boldin ran a slant into the EZ, was going for the catch (had it for a moment) and was sandwiched by two players one of which hit him directly helmet to helmet. Boldin just fell limp to the ground.

I yelled out loud when I saw that hit. Holy ####. That is how somebody gets killed. I haven't seen a head-to-head hit that hard in a long time. I don't think it was a dirty play with both players just going all out but that is why those hits are illegal.

yeah.. Anquan caught it in the air, going over the goal line, btwn 2 defenders.. got sandwiched.. one of the Jets hit him helmet to helmet, kind if right underneath facemask.. Anquan's head snapped back, he dropped the ball, and fell limp to the ground... both teams got into a giant huddle and started praying for him.. ambulance came thru the tunnel, and they carted him off.. his hands folded flat on his stomach. didn't see any movement.. no thumbs or anything...

horrible to see something like that, especially in garbage time for no reason... thoughts and well wishes to him and his family.

Thanks for the descriptions of the play, guys.

Not a Boldin owner, but here's to hoping he's gonna be back on the field soon.

I would call dirty play all the way. The guy launched himself at Boldins head.

What was the deal with the "each team is charged a timeout"? Because both of them were injured?
I think it's a technicality. any player hurt under 2 minutes gets charged a Time Outtwo guys were hurt, one on each team
I guess.. it was just a weird call, all things considered. First, Eric Smith was banged up but wasn't really hurt in terms of stopping the game... second, the Cards were out of timeouts but "wouldn't be penalized for their 4th TO", and finally, it sure seemed like that wasn't very important in the grand scheme of things. But then, as a lawyer, sure, a technicality isa technicality...a nd I'm sure they didn't want to be graded down

Really sucks. Boldin has been one of my favorite football players for a few years now. I've made it a point to get him on most of my teams. He's just a great guy to cheer for because he leaves it all on the field. My best wishes to go him and his family and I hope to see him back on a football field very soon.
