Game Thread W5 - Jacksonville V Seattle (1 Viewer)

how'd hass look on the first possession? i really need him to have just an average game. just play the whole thing will be fine :hifive:

ANOTHER Seattle OT just went down. They literally only have 6 active offensive lineman suited up now. Kyle Williams that was signed off the practice squad is now the LT.

Seattle pass offense looks solid so far. They are moving the ball well, but LT is going to be an issue. Hasselbeck just barely dodged a shot from the RDE and had to unload something ugly.

Mare long FG for a 3 point lead.

any word on what MSW did?
Nope. Only word is "broke a team rule".
Historically, on well coached teams, this means you don't get to start and you sit out the 1st series. Barring the player from helping you win seems to be a rookie coach move. Almost as bad as giving you players an sharpened Axe to swing around in the locker room. Oh, thats right, same coach.
Too funny how people let themselves get all emotionally worked-up when they have no clue what he did. You might be right, but how can you be sure?

Forsett just got a carry on 1st and 10! This is potentially bigger news than most will realize.
Next play stayed in on second down and picked up blitz well on a completed pass for another first down.Stayed in for third play in a row and got a carry on first down again.Went to bench on second down replaced by Jones.

Why is JAX struggling after two great drives to start the game? They're just going three and out each drive now.

Seattle run defense is MUCH better than people think. DT Mebane (missed SF game) makes all the difference. They are putting JAX in obvious passing situation and then putting heat on Garrard.

Mare's kickoffs are about 10-15 yards shorter than usual. I wonder if he's hurt a little bit. Could come into play later on with FGs.

LB Aaron Curry has his facemask in just about every play. Also, DE Tapp giving the JAX LT serious problems.

I don't know average starting field position, but its been a landslide in favor of Seattle. JAX keeps starting insdie its own 10 and Seattle keeps starting near midfield.

The story here is really the dominance so far by the Seattle D.

Well, to come back from this hole, Jacksonville will need their best receiver to step up and make big pl.....

wait, never mind.

Well, this sucks.

I certainly didn't expect the Jags to come into Qwest and take it from Seattle, but I did expect them to be somewhat competitive.

Del Rio is suck a ####### #######/d-bag.

If you want to punish a PLAYER in a TEAM sport, make them run windsprints at 5:00 am on Monday. You don't bench him and #### your team in the process by taking away it's most dangerous receiver, when your Quarterback has finally built a rappoire with him. This is the first time since Jimmy Smith and K McCardell that has happened really.

And you didn't bench him for a 1/4-half, so he is at least ACTIVE in case you decide at halftime that you might need him to WIN THE GAME!.

Unless he killed or raped somebody, you punish HIM, not the team for the infraction. End of story.

Um, wow. This is just embarrassing for the the Jacksonville offense.
Del Rio can eat it for screwing up my lineup. Bet he wishes he had MSW out there now. Screw him.
I keep reading comments directed at Del Rio, but none at Sims-Walker. Perhaps it might be best to know what happened before we point fingers?
Until then we act on what we know. That is that he DEACTIVATED on of his best players (and when many, many others have only sat players for series/a quarter etc), and by all accounts (prior to this) a fan/coach/team/qb favorite. Del Rio also threw Matt Jones under the bus. It seems someone whose combination of ego and authoritarianism might be too much for an nfl squad. As an NFL owner with billions invested I'd really want to know what was so egregious, especially if it is a one game deal. That reeks of a pissing contest. Coaches aren't supposed to get in those with their players, if they are effective leaders.

Still seems like a case of this...

Just guessing here, but I wonder if Sims-Walker is getting dinged a game check as well? Is that not punishment? Again, until you know, wouldn't it be better to hold back on the outrage?

The Jaguars punter needed surgery to close up a gash on his right, non-kicking, leg Thursday after he miscalibrated while using an ax to hack at the massive tree stump that coach Jack Del Rio placed in the locker room a few weeks ago.

Durant was also a healthy scratch today... related? We'll probably know more about both of them Monday afternoon... oh, wait it's Del Rio... we may never learn the truth.
