Two minutes before the game started I subbed out McClain for McGahee on word that Willis was starting...I knew it was risky but he's looked good out there...well as good as one could hope being as banged up as he is against such a tough D. Either one could wind up with a TD though so it's still a toss up.Too bad we were in the position of having to choose between them this week anyway, not a good situation.Surprised to see McGahee having success today. Glad I started McClain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lets get back to the weather. Nothing to see in this gameBeautiful weather in Crabtown today for the expected slobberknocker.

This one could finish TEN 13 - BAL 6
Kept the winning drive alive. Titans did a good job pass blocking on that drive. They may be a little bit offensively challenged but they're a very tough bunch.Big penalty there...
That's interesting, because I had the exact opposite experience. My wife was decked out in full Titans gear, and we were treated with nothing but respect and had a good time joking around with some of the Ravens fans sitting around us. I tend to make it to 2-3 Skins games each year, and the atmosphere at M&T was dramatically more enjoyable than any game I've been to at Fed Ex over the past few years. On a side note, yesterday at the stadium reinforced the notion that I'd think twice about bringing a kid to a game there. There was a little boy in the row in front of us (maybe 7 or 8 years old) whose mother finally took him & left because of the way people were acting. I'm no prude - far from it - but I don't blame her for leaving. One guy behind me (Ravens fan) seemed fixated on Willis McGahee & possible incestuous relations with his mom, if you know what I mean, every time he touched the ball. And others around us weren't much better. I'll yell as loud as anyone (pretty much hoarse today) but God, folks - just because you're at a football game doesn't mean it's ok to get snot-drunk & act like an animal with no regard for people around you.
Just shows you what a couple morons in a section can do. I am a season ticket holder at Heinz Field and I haven't heard a whole lot of profanity in our section. Opposing fans in our section may get a little ribbing but usually they're ignored. On the other hand my brother says he hears the F-bomb being dropped quite a bit in his section. It only takes a couple obnoxious drunks with foul language to make a bad experience. Every city has 'em.That's interesting, because I had the exact opposite experience. There were Titan fans in my section, too. They weren't taking any heat that I could see. I'm talking more about Ravens fans cussing their own team and the refs, and doing it as loudly (ok, in my book) & crudely as possible (over the line, IMO, with kids sitting right there). Maybe I just happened to be in a bad section yesterday, though it's happened just about every time I've been there (seen it at Skins games too). I dunno, I just think there's a difference in saying "You stink, ref!" & "**** my ****, you ******* ******!" in front of kids. That's interesting, because I had the exact opposite experience. I can buy that. I guess I was just overly impressed by the ... ahem ... enthusiasm of the stadium and fans as a whole. Might have been some language that wasn't child apropriate, but I don't have kids so I guess I just didn't notice. In any case, it was just great to see the festival-esque atmostphere at M&T and the sea of purple that existed across the stands. Fed Ex always seems to be, for lack of a better word, glum. Even in the best of Redskins times, the fans there always seem to be waiting for the other shoe to drop. Maybe its the way Snyder has dealt with the team in past years, maybe its the seemingly older demographics of ticket holders at Fed Ex... who knows. I do believe that having M&T inside the city does wonders for the fans, since you don't have to make the hellish trip out to Landover so you get more energy. You can look at the silver lining in one light, though.... at least Ravens fans still care enough to yell ( regardless of their inappropriate methods ). Half the Fed Ex fans would have bailed halfway through the 4th so they could beat the traffic. There were Titan fans in my section, too. They weren't taking any heat that I could see. We were talking at the game about this. I think both teams were trying to intimidate the other & also trying to bait the other into stupid stuff.I couldn't believe they couldn't get to Collins more. There was one point in either the 2nd or 3rd Quarter where they hit him hard a few plays in a row & he appeared to get happy feet. I was hoping for a repeat of the SB where he got hit so often he just started falling down without a player within 5 yards of him. But he got himself under control on his next series & seemed relatively fine the rest of the way.roadkill1292 said:Some of the players were still harping about the roughing call, which was bogus in my mind as well. However, the penalty still left the Titans 65 yards away, needing a TD to win and the Ratbird defense couldn't get it done. They got no pressure on Collins and continually left Bo Scaife wide open for big plays. While I don't fault their overall effort, they once again let a bad call make them lose their composure.
Both teams pride themselves on their physicality and I think a lot of the penalties came from two bullies trying to dominate one another. With their athleticism and creative blitzing, the Ravens will overwhelm some of the lesser offenses left on their schedule but that didn't work yesterday against a team every bit as tough as they are. Tennessee is just nasty and well equipped for a chippy game like that one.
I don't have kids either, so for myself it really doesn't bother me. Just so happened that the mom was right in front of me & I could see her discomfort, as well as the kid's unhappiness when they left.Anyway, I'm certainly not berating the general Ravens fan. That friggin' place was rocking yesterday, which is as it should be. I just wish people would be more aware of who's around them when choosing what they're gonna say.PranksterJD said:I can buy that. Either way, I was very impressed, and its likely that the Ravens take over a couple of my Redskins games each year going forward.
