Game Thread W6 - Detroit V Minnesota (1 Viewer)

wtf?!? Wtf?!? WTF?!?!/rantFrustrated AP owner....sigh
For now, do not expect any more than average stats from Peterson. He'll get about 75 total yards per game and a TD every other game. There is simply no blocking and no respect for the passing game.
Thanks for that... I just traded for him when his previous owner was in a QB bind (no QBs out of his 3 when Schaub went down last week).

For those in the Twin Cities area.. If the Vikings lose this game make sure to tune in to 93X tomorrow morning around 7:30am. Randy Shaver will be eating a lot of crow..

His exact words were "There is no way, in any way, that the Lions win this game.. I see the Vikings winning by at least 14 points".

It could be a VERY interesting conversation.

No problem. Also, with the Vikings down, don't expect to see Peterson get more than 5 carries in the second half. It will be a lot of Chester Taylor on the field.

Bad news.. Ferrotte looks incompetent against a :lmao: Lions Defense.

Good news?? Bears are losing so next week could be for first place  ..... :lmao: :lmao:

So they fired childress at halt-time right?? :excited:

No?? :kicksrock:

How the hell are you lossing 3-2 to the Lions ... AT HOME!?!?!?!?!?

The longer Childress is the coach, the lower the odds of the Vikings staying in Minnesota.

Minnesota will NEVER vote for a new stadium for a, at best, .500 team.

I'm almost to the point now where I'd rather go 3-13 this year with a Interim coach than suffer through a full season with Childress with the continued "we are building" speech. .
OK, if Childress losses this game and DOESN'T get fired than it is official.. Ziggy wants to move the team..

Seriously, that would be the only reason he isn't fired.. This is a fricken joke.
This team has really driven you bonkers eh?lossing? losses?

Nice stat line.. Lions going into this game had 4 sacks.. So far in this game they have 4 to double their sack total

Nothing like playing the Vikes to pad your stats.

 No idea where I'd be without the grammar/spelling police to bring up my typing mistakes :excited:

Can we all stop touting the Vikings offensive line as one of the best in the league now? Lions and Saints D lines are apparently manhandling the Vikes up front... I can't watch, but saw plenty last weekend against the Saints. The Vikes simply aren't as good as they should be on paper, and I'm calling it the line and play calling.

Clearly Tarvaris Jackson was what was wrong with the Vikings Offense.
What a terrible coaching move. At least let the season play out and see what you have in him, he hasn't even played a full seasons worth of games yet. We started the season out against a couple good defenses. Typical Childress overreaction. Just like the idiotic bringing in 4 punters off the street thing.

It really is not hard to play defense against the Vikings right now. They are Predictable. When announcers are sitting there, looking at the down and yards and calling the plays you know you have issues. During one play today the announcers showed 8 Men "inside" the tackles within 2 yards of the line of scrimmage and yet the Vikes STILL tried to run up the middle

Do the Vikings ever throw the screen?
Childress looks at that as a "trick" play and no  coach would use trick plays to win. :loco:BTW.. Great coverage there Vikes.. How many times does Griffith have to get burned before the Coach realizes he can NOT Cover???

Why did MIN not go for 2 pt conversion? Trailing by 1 or 2 is the same, IMO.
In the NFL you don't go for two until the 4th quarter generally. I tend to agree with that philosophy.
I've watched as much NFL football as anyone here.. In my mind, a coach should always position the team so it has the best chance of winning. Trailing 10-8 or 10-9 seem very equal to me - You're only a FG away from the lead, if you miss the 2 pointer. If you are successful, you are tied. It seems a error to concede a possible tie. I think the Vikes goofed.

If you miss the two pointer (50% of the time) then you can't catch them if they kick two field goals. I agree with going for one there. You always take the points until the 4th quarter.

Win or lose Childress should be fired after this game. There is no reason you should be losing in the 4th quarter against a  Lions team starting Orlovsky at QB.

Maybe Ziggy is just waiting for the Bye week..

Peterson's running style makes me nervous. He takes huge hits at least 4-5 times a game. A RB's body can't take that year after year.

Another Peterson fumble because he's spinning around doing all sorts of dancing in the pile.
so he should fall down on contact and not try to break tackles?
If you've been watching the game, you'd know his coaches came down on him because he's trying to do too much. Both of his fumbles are the result of trying to do too much rather than just taking what the defense gives him.
