Game Thread W6 - New England V San Diego (1 Viewer)

I wonder if Norv knows that the key to SD's success in the past has been to run LT when 1st and goal inside the 10.

Having LT throw to Antonio Gates has had a 100% success rate as well, but Gates will need to wash that grease off his hands first.

Ellis Hobbs (leg) and Jarvis Green (ankle) in the locker room, both questionable to return.

Two drives, three rushes by Tomlinson, all for two yards. Nothing much so far.

There's a stiffarm! Not a great one but it seems like there hasn;t been any big stiffarms this season. I'm used to seeing SJax and LT and a few others knock defenders helmets nearly off.

LT will finish 24/108 2 TDs
I revise my prediction to 14/37 and 2/12. He's clearly not healthy.
The time to sell high on him was this offseason. He's done, and many people on here were fortunate enough to get rid of him.
People are so fast to write off one of the best runners of our generation. He's not that old. He may not have a great year this year, but he could be back.....BIG TIME. I still look for a nice second half of the season this year. He may not be worth the #1 pick in your draft, but he should be a top 15-20 back this year. I wouldn't throw him away.

Top 15-20 RB? That's a low end RB2. We're saying the same thing with different words. He's done. Next year, he turns 30. That workload, combined with his recent injuries and his age, spell disaster.

Good to see Hobbs back in, and in time to break up that pass. The Chargers sure are testing the Patriots deep. Interesting that Norv told Al Michaels that that was the gameplan.

Cassel is not a good quarterback.

It's amazing that the Patriots haven't looked for a trade partner, free agent--something. There are a couple of good QBs on awful teams that come to mind.

Maybe they'll finally put in Kevin O'Connell at the half to find a spark.

Throw the ball short of the line of scrimmage on first and second downs. Stop running from the I on first and ten or third and short, or throwing the ball short on third and long.

Bad playcall. You dont run Faulk behind a FB especially when that FB is a Halfback (Morris). That should have been a run out of shotgun to faulk.

Cassel really has no pocket presence at all. Any pattern past 10 yards, and he's gonna get hit, because he doesn't feel the pressure at all. Of course, the O line looks like a seive, too. Just because Cassel doesn't see it coming, the fact fo the matter is the rush is collapsing the pocket pretty quickly.

Cassel=Brutal.... He has no presence or feel for the game. NE should have made a move for an experienced backup when Brady went down.

It seems he takes way too long to go through his reads

Little spark to start the second half as Cassel completes back to back passes to Morris, then runs for eight or so on first down. Now let's take a shot deep.

The NFL decided this offseason that they were going to start calling facemask penalties on offensive players that stiffarm into a defensive player's facemask. So you won't see nearly as many stiffarms anymore.

Only if they grab and pull. They can still have an open hand on a defender's facemask, just like the defense can do the same to the offense.

quite possibly the worst goal line series i've ever seen. if you're going to throw it, why take all your WRs out?
