Post any in game updates here or in the injury thread while games are in progress

This will be bumped closer to kickoff and pinned once the game starts

What does the gameplan look like w/r/t Norwood & Dunn? Even split, or are they getting Jerius more involved?

colston is playing, he missed a 20+ yard reception. Dunn has been getting more carries, but Norwood has looked better with the carries he has received, especially the 34 yard run.

ATL just kicked an outside kick, the saints have been on defense all game damnit!

The coach keeps saying we've got to get Norwood more touches and get him more involved but then you look at the box score and he has 3 carries and Dunn has 7. There's a simple way to get him more carries-GIVE HIM MORE CARRIES!!! And I'm not a Norwood owner.

Brees forced a pass on 4th and 2 and it got intercepted, when he could have easily ran for the 1st down. Brees hasnt been looking good, he got one interception called back earlier due to the falcons being offside.

Cautiously optimistic on Leftwich. I don't know if it's his deep ball threat, or the NO D not being very good, but the run game is working well and that's giving him a bit of extra time to throw. He does appear more decisive with the ball. I'll reserve final judgement til he finishes this game and then plays against a better D, but looking like I might've been wrong in my assessment of the situation.

Only a matter of time for Pierre, I think. Watching this one, will be curious to see how many touches he gets after that.

Hopefully no more TDs.

If NO is anything like Petrino, Pierre won't see another run after that 24 yd TD. Is Petrino officially slow?

Man, does it seem like this guy gets all the chances in the world? He always ends up in a situation to get on the field.I think this time will be his big break!

Can't understand why they won't give the ball to Norwood. More yards on 3 carries than Dunn has on 12.

I have been wantching Bush closely the last few weeks. One thing for sure..Reggie is not a feature NFL RB.

Reggie is a change of pace, third down and maybe even a better WR that he would be as a RB. Bush can`t run between the tackles.

With McCallister out it is even more obvious.

I will admit I drank some Bush kool-aid, and right about know I am feeling very ill.

Yep. Current drive for Dunn: 5, -2, -1. All with ZERO upside on each run. Awesome game plan when you're an offense that struggles to make plays as it is.

Exactly. Dunn's just not going to break a long one. Last 2 weeks:Dunn - 21 for 43Norwood - 9 for 121Pretty frustrating for Falcons fans to watch this.

Leftwich down, ankle again, and it doesn't look good, my initial suspicion is that it's broken.
That sucks for Leftwich. Finally gets a chance to play and prove something and he coes down. Too bad. I would've like to see this kid do well.

Yep, it sure is. I'm at a loss to explain it.

WOW. What is the falcons conversion rate on 3rd down? Its got to be really high. Im guessing above 85%.

Roddy White nearly had his 2nd TD of the game in the early 4th quarter, ruled out of bounds at the 7 on a run after the catch. If he was out of bounds, it was only by inches. He's looking like a decent 3rd receiver aganst weak pass defenses.

I was just joking about this, but why not give some of Stecker's touches to Pierre? Lets see what you have with him. You KNOOOWWW what you have with Stecker already: Not much.

Hey guys, I was distracted, but I thought the Bush TD was a pass? All the live scoring and NFL.com has it as a rush.

Did I just see it wrong?

Goin' for 2 makes no sense there, but since they gave it to Reggie I'm glad they did :pickle: -QG
Agree, and it seems to be something that is commonly done in that situation now. I can see going for two when up by 4 with say, a minute left. That way if they score a TD you still have the fluke missed XP in your pocket just in case. But with 6 minutes left, that's enough time for them to drive down and score a TD to take the lead back and your team to get the ball back and try and get into FG range, which with an XP would win it but with a missed 2-pt conversion would only tie it. May sound unlikely, but it's a lot more likely than a missed XP is...
