Man, I am not attacking you. You know damn well that is not my style. I am simply taking umbrage with your tactics in using the "your team lost, so stop being a crybaby" line. You are usually better than that. That is my point.
Also, I don't buy the line about there being people who always try to explain away every Steelers win by saying the refs gave it to them. That is playing the "we are so picked on" card. Sorry, but I don't buy it. I have seen plenty of great recent Steelers wins where no one was questioning the officiating.
And if there are a handful of people that are just looking to cry foul when the Steelers are the beneficiaries of a bad call, then why justify their crying, as you called it, with a response. If people doing that are just begging for attention, which is likely, why give them what they want? Why not just ignore them?
Ask the other Steelers fans here if the ref issues come up constantly. Any game in which there's a single questionable call becomes "handed" to us by the refs. If you don't believe me, ask the others. I could (and 95% of the time do) just let it slide, but every now and again, there are a contingent of fans from one team who pound the point into the ground (erroneously, I might add) and it gets f'n annoying. That was the case here, and I was addressing only
those fans. I was very clear about that. There were plenty of others who were rational and simply wanted to discuss the call without getting into conspiracy theories or antagonistic posts, and I think to a man they'd say they weren't remotely offended by anything I said because they know it wasn't directed at them. I don't feel "picked on", but I'm getting sick of people constantly claiming that the league/refs/whoever continually bias games in Pittsburgh's favor. It's ludicrous and you know it. People routinely insinuate that the league throws games to the Steelers as if appeasing their huge fanbase is somehow worth jeopardizing the entire integrity of the game whose mass appeal is greater than any other entity has ever been in the history of entertainment. It's beyond asinine, yet we hear it ALL the time. Those who harp on it over and over after a game sound like GD crybabies, I'm sorry. The fact is, a good many of them are doing it just to rankle people, because they know what I say above is true. It doesn't bother me, but I'm not going to sit there and listen to it either, I'm going to put them in their places. I'm just calling a spade a spade here, if that lowers your opinion of my posting somehow, so be it.
