Game Thread W7 - New England V San Diego (1 Viewer)

I would fully support an onside kick there . . . but that wasn't an onside kick. It was just a line drive right to the guy.

This is unreal. I should have told you guys I bet on San Diego this week so you'd know that all this weird ### flukey stuff was going to go against them.

Stupid Norv!!! Thats what you get for putting a different damn RB in on every damn play! Just put in Mathews and stick with him for God sakes!

Hmmm, from replay it looked blatantly forward. Remember it's where the ball comes out of his arm, which was right on the 38 yard line. Hester touched it up closer to the 37. Not conclusive though and given the way replay has gone today (Dolphins game) it won't be overturned.

Plays like that have happened a couple times this season where I thought the pass was "backward" (i.e., sideways). But this is the first time the refs didn't immediately rule it incomplete.

Would be surprised if it's overturned.

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.....dumb play after dumb play. Amazing.

Christmas coming early for the Pats - they haven't really done anything.

IMO that was not backwards. On that replay, Rivers arm appears to be right at the 38 or so when he releases the ball, though his body is moving forward. And it looks like Hester first touches the ball just inside the 38 (between 37 and 38), meaning it was just slightly forward. Not sure the refs will feel there is definitive evidence to overturn, though.

This is absurd. Just get rid of replay already. It's a good idea, but when referees can't see something that's blindingly obvious on it it just makes bad calls even more frustrating.

I don't know how you can say that it blatantly obvious?
Blatantly obvious is being too nice. The ball came out of Rivers arm on the OTHER side of the 38 yard line. It hit Hester's hand almost all the way up at the 37. It was at LEAST a half a yard forward, and more realistically was close to a full yard.
