Game Thread W8 - NY Giants V Pittsburgh (1 Viewer)

If we win this game with no Willie Parker, Aaron Smith, Marvel Smith, and Santonio Holmes, this team is even better than I thought

I didnt realize how big of a smile seeing Plax stand on the sidelines sulking that he cant play, knowing that if he only played 1 game this year, hed want it to be vs PIT @ PIT . Thank you for this joy Coach Coughlin

:lmao:  :lmao:

Woohoooo!!!!!

Im sorry, but you dont make that gamble down 7-3 at the beginning of the 2nd Q, on the ROAD, vs a team this good

Bleh if Ben's "TD" in the super bowl counted, this should count.

Don't agree with going for it on 4th down. Too early in the game to be taking points off the board. Take the 3. Plenty of game left.

I like the decision to go for it there. Not sure if I agree with the decision to run it right up the gut again, though.

you go for it all day there on 4th and inches...Brandon Jacobs behind the best run blocking unit in the league...its a no brainer, just bad luck if this isnt a TD

ETA: and I don't know what Aikman is talking about. It looks like Jacobs was in for both angles to me. Good challenge win or lose.

Refs screwed up on 2 plays in a row. That first play was just out of the endzone by half a foot, but they put it back on the 1/2 yard line. Next play, the aerial view showed he was in.

I don't like it. It is fundamental to the game to not take points off the board. The only way I could understand going for it there is if it is clear they are completely dominating the line of scrimmage, where they can just drive the pile back into the end zone, or there is some huge mismatch they can exploit.

Troy Aikman is blind. Jacobs was in, that should be a TD.
Too close to overturnDidnt look like it crossed from the sideline view, it looks like it might have from the aerial view, but you cant see the ball and based on the other view, the ball was closer to his mid torso than his helmet

Aerial view is tough though, b/c I don't think its parallel to the line. The angle makes it a tough thing to call "inconclusive".

Coughlin is trying to save a man's life here - that's more important than a football game, right?

Put Plaxico back in the damnn game on the next series already!!!!

Luckily for the Giants it has worked out. They forced the punt and got the short field.

First off, Aikman proves once again he's atleast as bad as Dierdorf, probably worse. And Troutwig has twice commented about receivers not getting out of bounds, and we're not even midway through the second quarter. The combination of these two is just attrocious.

The spot after the challenge was too far away and the replays clearly showed Jacobs broke the plane. Absolutely horrible officiating.

You tell me where the replays CLEARLY showed a TDYou just lying to yourself

All things considered, a good defensive job for the Steelers the last two drives. Now the offense needs to get back on track.

Steelers D is unbelievably stingy. If things continue the way they're going the week 16 matchup between Tenn and Pitt should end like 6-3

Just looked at it again. There was an angle at the beginning of the play, but it was minimal by the time Jacobs approached the goal line and wouldn't have accounted for the amount that the ball did cross the line.

The overhead view is clear, and the view for the right sideline shows the ball about 6 inches from the plane, then you see the arms extend and the ball disappears. Seeing anything other than that is wishful thinking.
