Game Thread W9 - Atlanta V Oakland (1 Viewer)

For those watching ...is Asomugha following White where he lines up? Or just playing a particular side of the field? If so ...I need to give some recognition to a poster earlier today.

Turner isn't hurt. Looks like RBBC though. Roddy White haven't had one target yet and the ball is never even in his area. Looks like the Nmandi effect.

Quite frankly Atlanta is just running everything in their playbook and the Raiders just can't stop them. Turner and White are fine, just haven't been used as frequently as you would usually expect.

Falcons are looking awesome. :hifive:

I would say that this is more a case of the Raiders looking absolutely terrible on both sides of the ball. They are horrible at stopping the run.

It's both. Raiders look awful, Falcons look really good.

You'll see more Turner as we go, is my guess, but Atlanta has obviously decided that Jenkins is going to be featured in order to avoid Asi. Don't panic yet, Ryan has a way of finding White eventually.

No doubt that's a factor and as a homer I'm biased, but Atlanta really is playing well. Oakland definitely flat though.

Wow. 18 carries in the first half so far for The Burner. What's the most he'll get today? 25-26?

Gotta get him over a hundy for my bonus to kick in.

Wow - first half stats - Total Net Yards - Atlanta 313 - Oakland 6 -2

- freaking minus two yards.

So when does Oakland start looking elsewhere at the QB position?

I am happy if they stay with Russell mind you, but how long does Al stay on this path,

Am I missing something, or did Oakland only run 13 offensive plays in the first half? (7 passing attempts, 3 rushing attempts, 3 sacks). Time of possession is just ridiculous.... 24:08 to 5:52?!

In all fairness (and I can't see this game so just judging on past games), it's not all Jamarcus' fault. He doesn't exactly have a stellar receiving corps... he took a few sacks, but from the games I saw in the past the offensive line isn't playing great either.

Abraham is lining up on both sides and terrorising the Raider OL.. this is going to get even uglier if you're a Raiders fan.

Dang it! This is unacceptable! We gave them a 1st down!

This performance is one I'm all too familiar with as a Falcons fan, but usually it is us on the wrong side of things. :lmao:

After the game, maybe Al can get some notes from Arthur Blank on how to successfully turn around a disgraced NFL franchise.

Fumble, Atlanta ball. Russell just looks horrible. This is the first time I've really taken a decent look at him, and he's so tentative, so scared of a mistake. Don't know if this is normal for him, but he doesn't look good at all.

What a huge contrast between two highly touted 1st round QB's.

Looks to me that one has got the "IT" factor...the other...not so much.

I honestly feel bad for Oakland. I've been on the other side of these far too often. Having been a bit of an Oakland fan in the Madden/Stabler/Bilitnikoff days, I hope Al comes to his senses soon.

But, then again, I've earned it. Goooooooo Falcons!!!!!!

Really glad I wasn't watching this game.

Code:
Total Net Yards 77Time of Possession 14:45Total Turnovers 2
:lmao:

Very pleased with the defensive effort. And the offense in the 1st half was on fire. I know we ran the clock most of the 2nd half, but I still would have liked to have seen a little more from Ryan and the WRs after the break.

But let's be real, we travel to the West Coast and come away with a 24-0 victory so there's basically no complaints - especially when we are 5-3 and basically already outperformed the win total most expected from us for the year.

I could not be more excited for the Matt Ryan/Mike Smith era in Atlanta. Go Falcons!

:good posting: he is a true shutdown corner. So any teams playing the Raider who have a decent mix of run and pass you must start the number two wr.:checking remaining schedule right now:
