Game Thread W9 - Jacksonville V Cincinnati (1 Viewer)

MJD returned the first kick - anyone know if Brian Witherspoon was back with him? Thought the rookie CB was handling all the kicks now...

Why was it just third down and 11 for Cincy. There were 3 penalties called on the play. Two were after the play and one occured during the play which was a call against the defense for face to the hands. Am I wrong but I thought the two penalties after the play did not impact the play which meant Cincy could have either accepted penalty or took the catch by TJ but instead the play did not count. I know penalties on both teams nullify the play but does that apply to after the play is over?

I can definitively tell you that my wife has no idea. I've been asking her why it wasn't a Bengals first down for the last 5 minutes. I'm pretty sure she's aggravated.

If that's truly the rule and not an screw up by the refs, that type of penalty situation needs to be looked at. Bengals get the 1st down AND a defensive penalty. Henderson after the play tries to rip Whitworth's eyes out like a wench, Whitworth throws a punch, both are ejected and the Bengals get screwed.

OK, so you are Jacksonville (a RUNNING team) and you are down by 8 with 8 minutes left and have the ball....what do you do?

Oh, that's right, throw the ball 3 times and punt. Brilliant. :whoosh:

How did JAX score their last touchdown?
On the kickoff, Glenn Holt is crushed by Chad Nkang, forcing him to fumble the football. It's picked up by Montell Owens, who takes it to the house for the score.
No Def/ST TD for that?
Id imagine that would be a DEF/ST TD, no?
CBS hasn't credited it as such...
this is my concern. Typically it is though, right? So we can expect a correction?
