Will this game decide the election?

(Obama = Pittsburgh, Washington = McCain based on history of Redskins' home games before an election.)

End of politics.... on to

You've just made it very hard to root for my favorite team. Oh, well. I won't tell the wife. Let's hope they don't mention it during the broadcast.

Any word on FWP and if he is playing, or how much he will be playing tonight?

As a MMoore and FWP owner, it would be nice to have new information from tonight to know which one to start.

Berman and all the other ESPN schmucks are going to turn this into intolerable election eve schtick by constantly elbowing us in the ribs with "clever" references to the election. It's already making me physically ill just thinking about it. :wall:

ESPN's Michelle Tafoya reports that Willie Parker (knee) will play 40-45 offensive snaps on Monday Night Football. This is more than initially expected and enough for him to be a solid RB2. Parker usually wouldn't play many more because he's removed on passing downs. He'll likely get goal-line carries as well and is a sounder fantasy start than Mewelde Moore after this news, especially in non-PPR leagues. Teams usually have 60-70 offensive snaps in a given week. From Rotoworld

Matchup to watch: The Redskins' pass rush versus the Steelers o-line.

The resistible force meets the movable object.

Like that will happen :P I am sure Kornyheiser will be more intolerable than usual - can they bring back Dennis Miller for just this game?He would be awesome

Posting from the Moss thread:

No Sign of Samuels

Chris Samuels is not on the field. That's not a good sign for the Pro Bowl left tackle, and if Stephon Heyer does have to play, it could get ugly (Jason Campbell was nearly seriously hurt in the preseason against Pittsburgh last year with Samuels out and Heyer in).

Meantime, Santana Moss is running easily and working without any trainers hovering over him, which matches what I was hearing - that he will play.

We should have the inactives in 20 minutes or so

Samuels Will Start

Starting left tackle Chris Samuels has been getting treatment and will start.

Corner Shawn Springs (calf), RB Ladell Betts (knee), De Jason Taylor (calf), WR Malcolm Kelly (knee) are out. (Brief aside: Look for Carlos Rogers to line up on Santonio Holmes, Fred Smoot on Nate Washington with a lot of Leigh Torrence on Hines Ward when Ward is in the slot).

OL Chad Rinehart, OL Jason Fabini, QB Colt Brennan, and DE Rob Jackson are scratches.

The Steelers' scratches are QB Dennis Dixon, CB Bryant McFadden, S Ryan Clark, LB Bruce Davis, LB Keyaron Fox, OL Tony Hills, OL Marvel Smith and DE Orpheus Roye.

so out of those 3 wr vs cb battles who has the easiest match up?

I say Nate can beat Smoot long - if Ben has time

:football: Nice info -- Thanks!

My money is on the Skins tonight with this logic:

I saw Philadelphia play the Steelers and I thought Philly looked significantly better than the Steelers. Shortly after that game, I saw Philly play the Redkins and I thought the Redkins significantly outplayed the Eagles.

This line of thinking isn't near fullproof but it's hard for me to shake those thoughts, so I'm on the Skins tonight.

I'm thinking 24-20 Washington.

Skins are wearing their burgundy jerseys tonight. Why???

I can't recall them not wearing white jerseys at home.

If it is so that Pittsburgh can't wear their home black jerseys, that's weak. Hope that's not the reason.

I disagree if you are not all over Big Ben it will be a long day. Skins go down. 26-14

Zorn's policy is to switch at the halfway point of the season, when presumably all of the hot sunny games are done. I don't mind as I love the burgundy jersey look, but that was the plan. You're right - Gibbs went all white all year long.

What makes you believe that the Redskins can't put pressure on Ben?

They certainly generate more pressure than their sack numbers would indicate, but they're not an elite pass rushing team either, to say the least. The best news is that Cornelius Griffin is playing tonight, and the whole rest of the line tends to key off of him when it comes to their play.

Although not a Skins fan, I've seen most of their games. Against Dallas, I thought they put good pressure on Romo....against Philly, I thought they put solid pressure on McNabb. Now, Ben's a big guy and can move around a bit himself but that's also what's gotten him hurt a bit this year too.

In reality I just think Pittsburgh is a better team, we will find out in about 3 1/2 hours or sooner. All I know is if the Skins play the way they have the last 3 weeks they will lose tonight. If the SKins win this game I will say they are an elite team that is for real and have a shot at the SB.

Their pressure is more subtle, forcing QB's to move and get out of their comfort zone, but not resulting in hits and sacks as much as other teams. It's effective, or can be, but it's subtle to be sure. We'll see how it works out. I keep hoping Taylor will return at full speed and they'll start getting those backfield hits, fumbles and sacks.

Going out on a limb here, but I think Portis might get more than just nicked tonight.

This should be a very good game, but I'm leaning Pittsburgh as the better team overall. The Redskins have surprised me all year, so who knows.

As an Eagles fan, I'd prefer the Steelers (and that's my pick).

I'll leave the politics out of it.

Who was the chick in the new Guitar Hero commercial. Kind of looked like Lita Ford :football:

Love watching the steelers fans filter all over a stadium. Here is your home field advantage #####

I am not a Steelers Fan. I am not a Redskins Fan. I have zero Fantasy implicaitons tonight.......and I can't wait for this game. I think it's going to be a good one.

No tunnel cheerleaders, so Ben's good to go.
I do not like the SKINS but I am routing for the to stop Heath Miller I am up by 8 points and all that is left is Heath vs me. Come on Skins!!1 I am 8-0 and looking for 9 :D
LOL, we're in similar situations but I'm a little worse off. No PPR but I'm only up 5 and he has Heath left and I'm done. I'm not worried about it.....whatever. I just want to watch a good football game.
