Game Thread Week 4 - San Diego vs. Pittsburgh (1 Viewer)

Pinning the SNF thread...before GT...sweet!

Nice to see FBGs on top of it (and hopefully MNF as well...both have been notably hard to find this year).

Kevin Ellison inactive. I was kind of hoping he'd start getting more playing time in place of Hart and Gregory. Maybe after the bye.

Hey Norv, that red thing you carry is so you can make the refs check and see that only one foot came down inbounds. Unless I completely saw it wrong he was knoicked out without getting the left foot down.

That was fast.

The Chargers' defense has been absolutely horrible on the first drive of every game so far this season. They got lucky against the Raiders and Dolphins with turnovers down near the goal line, but they haven't come close to slowing anybody down on the way there.

(They've also been horrible on their first offensive series. We'll see if that continues tonight.)

Wallace did not get two feet down on the long catch. Norv should have challenged it.
I completely agree. I was shocked that there was not only no challenge, but also no discussion of it in the booth.Even with that, though, great drive by the Steelers.

/tangent

Everytime I see Mike Tomlin, I expect him to be talking to House.

The guy to me really looks like Omar Epps.

/tangent off

I really hope San Diego gets more of a pass rush, or Ben will light them up tonight.

Yep.Now that the first drives by each team are out of the way, it should be a decent game from here on out.

Good start for the Steelers. But then again, both the Bears and Bengals games featured good starts for the Steelers too. Hopefully this time they can be consistent throughout the game.

Is it unfair to say that I think Floyd or Naanee or Jackson all would have caught that pass? It's gotten to the point that I think Chambers is their 4th best WR, and he's behind Gates and Sproles too... I'd like to see his playing time and targets reduced.

Yep. I dropped him like a bad habit last week. Hopefully Jackson has a big game.

Oh man that terrible Steeler's O-line. They only gave him 8 seconds to throw.
Ben trusts the line and has said on more than one occasion that he is the one that makes them look bad. I will complain about their run blocking but that has improved some since the begining of the season.

They ate their wheaties tonight. San Diego really, really needs a pass rush here. Ben has all day back there.
And now Phillips out too. They've gotta do some blitzing.
Or not
 I was thinking the same thing. Guess that's why I'm sitting here and not coaching. No Jamal and I was worried they'd gash us for big yardage. No need with Ben torching us.

Do you think anyone has mentioned to Merriman that a mohawk doesn't look cool past age 18? Or are they all to afraid to?

You can tell him. I wouln't say a word to the guy. Also, diehard Steeler fan here and I cannot stand the yellow helmet.

The Blackhawk seems to get more prevalent every year. Julius Jones had a nauseating one last season, Nate Burleson sports one now. The Blackhawk went out with Fishbone fellas. In all racial fairness, the anyhawk looks silly these days, especially with so many fauxhawks floating around.
