Game Thread - Wildcard - Pittsburgh V Cincinnati (1 Viewer)

Kitna is good. Not a big dropoff. The hit looked bad - it was from the side, not straight on. I doubt you'll see Palmer until Spring.

This is surreal. I can't beleive Palmer is out. I'm a Bears fan but I've been pulling for the Bengals all year. I love seeing them do well. This sucks. :(

I agree...I can understand if you're blocked into a guy, or your natural trajectory is towards a player's knee.I thought it appeared that he THREW his shoulder into his knee. And that was uncalled for.I look for a bloodbath game of cheapshots now.

I think that was extremely questionable at best...I mean even if he does get blocked into him, it just seems that there was wrenching that certainly was bush league.

He was blocked down and didn't look like he could've avoided that hit on Palmer's knee.

God, I hope it's not serious, but it looked bad.
I agree, he wasn't even looking at Palmer, Just kind of grabbed blindly for him. I hope he's ok.

Lineman couldn't have stopped himself from getting pushed to the ground. But he sure could have stopped himself from holding onto Palmers leg and pushing his shoulder into him.

That was a clean hit, and even so, the lineman looked pretty upset. His momentum couldn't stop him, that is why Palmer was hit low.# 23 seems like a punk for the STeelers, but with all these little skirmishes, this is going to be a great game to watch.

The way his leg went, it looked like it could've been a torn mcl and/or acl. When the lower leg goes out and the upper leg goes in, that often happens.

This was going to be a tough game for the Bengals to begin with, but with the refs letting this game get chippy and Palmer out of the game...

Now Henry. It must be the Steelers game plan to simply injury all the Bengals offensive players so they can beat us.

I gotta say the refs have so far been terrible in the playoffs. TB got screwed repeatedly and they clearly missed a fumble on either side and more earlier today. Now 2 questionable hits on TJ, the end zone hit should've been a flag.  to the refs this post season.

With all the comments here I had to back up and watch it again. He was falling and hit him, really only reaching to grab his leg. His shoulder hit him at an odd ankle as Palmer was following through. Unfortunate injury - but I saw nothing dirty.

Some very chippy, punk provocations thus far by the Steeler DB's. I hope they demonstrrate a little more sportsmanship from here on out. Hard play is one thing. Late Chippy hits and posturing over players is another.

Did you see the KC game?
Kitna's a good backup but this is a huge dropoff. Palmer is one of the best QBs in the NFL, Kitna is a backup and the #25 starter at best.

Agreed. Kimo's not a dirty player. I think everyone agrees that it sucks no matter who they're rooting for.

There's still a game to be played here.

yeah, that's it  it's football-- injuries happen and good teams overcome them..

I'm pretty sure Palmer always wears the knee brace on his left (forward) leg like Manning for exactly this reason. Probably helped keep it from being worse than it would have been. Also, Houshmandzadeh is going to get punk'd if he doesn't shut up and play. I doubt any of those players and fans forget him shining his cleats with the yellow towel. He's the opposite of Chad Johnson. Where Johnson is funny, Houshmanzadeh just seems like a punk.J

Yeah, definitely. Looks like a replay from the Culpepper injury. He may not come back ready in time for the regular season.

Predictions sure to go wrong....

Feel free to track....

CJ - 100 yards and a TD.

Rudi - 20+ carries

Palmer 250+ / 2TDs

FWP under 100

Bettis 1 TD
I was typing this while I cringed, but was going to finish the thought to be honest....(aside - how do you do a strikethru?)
hi

Was kind of hoping to see some new blood in the playoffs this year, but NE/Pitt/Indy/Denver = same old same old
