Game Thread - Wildcard - Pittsburgh V Cincinnati (1 Viewer)

if he tore his ACL can he be ready for the start of the 2006 season. QBs do not have to run alot like RBs
Maybe but they're going to want to make sure that he's fully healed so he doesn't reinjure it. They're saying multiple ligaments torn.
Yep.Downgrade Chad, severe downgrade to Housh...severe downgrade to Rudi...all for 2006.

(before you post the icon, yes, I am)
You would think the recovery time would not be as long for a passing QB like Palmer versus a RB because they rely on their arm and the RB relies on his legs. But I am no Doctor.
still need to plant to throw, tough with torn ligament
This really sucks :hot: becuase my 2 QBs in my main dynasty league are Culpepper and Palmer :wall:
In the midst of my Bengals slowly letting the game slip away I can at least look to this little ray of sunshine in hearing about your Dynasty league team. Thank you.
i am a Cowboy fan, at least your team made the playoff

I have never heard a teamate say anything except positive things about Ray Lewis as a leader.
Of course, they don't want to get shot.
:lmao:
Yes, throwing humor out of a situation where a few men DIED and left behind family and friends is just hilarious.
Hey, I didn't shoot anybody.
And neither did Ray or his friend. IIRC, it was a stabbing death. And it was only 1 that died. Not belittling it in any way, but get your facts straight before you preach from the soapbox.
I'm not the one that was preaching.
Then the chances are pretty high that that comment wasn't directed at you. I know it was a reply to yourpost, but it's clearly (preaching part) aimed at someone else.

Also, Houshmandzadeh is going to get punk'd if he doesn't shut up and play. I doubt any of those players and fans forget him shining his cleats with the yellow towel. He's the opposite of Chad Johnson. Where Johnson is funny, Houshmanzadeh just seems like a punk.

J
 How about the DBs that were standing over and taunting him after the play was over? Guess they get a free pass, huh?

Ok, but you're making jokes about it. If your parents/children die soon, how would you like me to come on this board and make jokes about it?
Probably the next day. I'm obviously heartless and shallow.

lol @ that fumble.  cripes Kitna.
That's OBVIOUSLY butter on the ball planted by the NFL higher-ups.
We get it. You used to be an umpire. Refs dont make blatent errors that affect a game. The bad call by the umpire in the White Sox/Angels game had no affect and the interference call here is inconsequential.
Wow, I unignored this post for this?Seriously, Pat, I've brought up the fact that I was an umpire maybe twice in my 6000 posts on this board, and not in the past 3-4 months (since the WS). I never said the PI call was inconsequential to the game...actually, I never said ANYTHING about that call...and I brought up NOTHING about my past.

I was commenting on the fans who said this game was "fixed". That's all. Whatever else you want to pin me on is entirely up to you.

Back on ignore you go.
Stop teasing me. First we are done when I didnt even know we were dating. Then we get back together and now you are breaking up with me again. There is no fix but all of the calls are going 1 way.

GREAT play by the Steelers.

Those of you that have already said it, the Bengals need to run a little here. There is a whole quarter to go.

Okay Deltha, you made a nice hit, you don't have to draw attention to yourself. Man I can't stand showboating. Slapping high five with your teamates, or screaming are alright, but doing a crawl, or making snow angels are just embarrasing.
It's one thing after a tackle at midfield...Equating that to a Steve Smith TD celebration is not even close....
Why not? (by thw way I am not going to comment again, no need to hijack this thread.) It shows a lack of respect to your opponent and individualizes a player in a team sport. Both are embarrassing. Give me a Barry Sanders flip to the ref after a td, that is all class.
Barry Sanders was a terrible leader, and not surprisingly he never had much team success. I'll take a loud showboat like Ray Lewis, whom every single one of his teamates would say that he helped motivate them like no other, over a quiet guy who inspires nobody.
This is one of the most idiotic statements made by any human at any time in the history of man.
why? Do you really think any NFL team would rather have their leader behave like Barry over Ray? Theres no way....every team would love to have a leader like Ray Lewis...or Chad Johnson.
Yes, I think there are teams that would want Barry Sanders as their leader over Ray Lewis. You can't make a blanket statement and expect it to be true for every situation - different things motivate people and I don't think I am alone in saying that Ray Lewis would not motivate me in any way shape or form. Sanders work eithic, passion for the game, competitive fire and character on the field would certainly inspire me.
I have never heard a teamate say anything except positive things about Ray Lewis as a leader. And honestly, if he couldn't motivate you, then you're not human. Conversely, I've heard many times people saying that Sanders needed to be more vocal of a leader(most of the time when comparing him to Emmitt), and I have rarely heard anyone call him a good leader.
:hophead: I'm not human then.
Have you ever played football?
I played college basketball at Okahoma State (I walked on the team) and played 2 years under coach Leonard Hamilton. I played 2 years of junior college basketball (on scholarship) at Western Oklahoma State College. So, don't ask me your "have you played sports" question. I was around the athletes on the football, baseball and wrestling teams at Oklahoma State. So, go find another angle on trying to prove your asinine point.

I'll find no joy in collecting my Pitt ML...it's kind of like winning money having bet on the Iceberg vs. the Titanic

I didn't ask you if you had played sports, but thanks for changing my question to better suit your argument. I asked you if you had played football. I guess not.

To those calling the game: #### you.
Hi this is Phil Simms. Don't expect any Christmas card, one year of free bacon or my new "Senseless gibberish" DVD to be arriving at your door this year. I thought we waz boyz?

:lmao: Playing the PC card just because this thug is one of your heros and you don't like jokes being made at his expense.

they sayin carson suffered an acl tear!? if he did that sux.. i tore mine last month.. being hes a nfl player hell be back alot fasta

Carson Palmer, out for the season!! All 13 minutes of it!Another game tainted by poor reffing. Sure hope they clean up their act before next week. Quick whistles and down by contact be damned.

 This is going to be like sandblasting a soupcracker, but I still want to see it.

You can definitely see the difference between the arm of Palmer and the arm of Kitna. Kitna's passes to not have the same zip or velocity. And he can't throw the deep ball with the same accuracy. The entire complexion of this game changed when Palmer went out.But the way the Steelers are playing, I'm not sure the Bengals could win even with Palmer. But at least he could have kept them in a shootout.

Whatever, I'm done with this conversation- I don't feel like making light of a tragedy anymore.

So we are looking at 4 games in the books, only one home team winning. Wow.And the one road team that lost was a 12-4 club playing at a 10-6 club's place.
