Garrard on display SaturdayCoach Jack Del Rio likes his idea of lifting Byron Leftwich after just two series Saturday night against Carolina and then giving David Garrard a shot with the first team."Byron's arm is a just little sore and we wanted to get David some snaps against the first defense at some point so the timing is right,'' he said.Leftwich is his starter regardless of what happens Saturday night, but if Leftwich struggles and Garrard lights it up, Del Rio recognizes he could be stoking a quarterback controversy even if there isn't one in his mind."There are a lot of different ways at looking how things are going to be perceived," Del Rio said. "I can't really worry about the perception. I have to focus on preparing this football team to be strong for 2006 and selecting the best 53 guys for the season. Don't get carried away with reading those types of things into it and understand I'm basically a straight shooter."A former linebacker, Del Rio doesn't think the media should be focusing so much on the quarterback. "Write about the linebackers,'' he said. "What about us guys?''
