Garrard's value without MSW? (1 Viewer)

Now that Sims-Walker is doubtful for the week, what impact will that have on Garrard's numbers this week at Miami?

I benched Big Ben because of the weather, but now with his #1 WR out, Garrard seems to have dropped from a low #1 QB, to low #2. First week of the playoffs, and I am trying to decide if I should drop MSW and pick up Alex Smith, or cross my fingers.

Well, FWIW, Garrard plays much better at home and he's still drawing the Dolphins weak pass coverage. I'd say Dave still probably outdoes the anemic effort that Ben would have netted you even without Sims-Walker.

Having said that, If Smith's floating around on the WW......I dunno if I'd drop Sims-Walker for him, but I'd certainly drop someone and roll with him this week over Dave-sans-MSW. The Cardinals can be passed on and the Niners have put the ball in the air 30+ times in 5 of Smith's 7 starts, and 40+ two of the past three weeks since officially running the O out of the spread. He has 13 TDs in those 7 starts as well. Draws the Lions week 16, etc. etc.

I agree with everything he says, don't drop Walker though.

Due to my league rules, in the playoffs I can only drop an injured player. So, lady and the tiger. Drop MSW to better my chance for a win this week, or hope I make it past this week and MSW has value for the last couple weeks?

What is the Sharky move?

The shark move isn't to drop MSW unless you have Wrs that are just as good or better the next couple weeks. There are so many other factors.

With Homes, R. White, Welker, Garcon, and MSW, I think I can take the hit in the WR pool. I'm probably dropping my #3 WR.

It could be worth it if you think your opponent's QB will definitely outproduce Garrard. You've got the WRs to absorb the hit. And, to play The Devil's Advocate, if Walker is gimpy for a week or two with the leg stuff you may not be missing much.

Well, he's starting Brees, so I'm never going to be able to match that production this week, but I think I am pulling the trigger. If I have another player go gimpy this weekend, I can always make a play for MSW next week.
