If you believe that a fetus is indeed a person and therefore deserving of rights then you are spot on.

I don't beleive an early term ganglia of cells that has no feeling and no sense of being is a person. But for those that do, I actually respect their fighting for what they believe are the most basic of freedoms.

Now, why someone would be so weak of heart and character to insert their sense of morality on others by encroaching upon or eliminating freedom, that I can't answer.

If that means that some parts won't like changes that give minorities basic rights -- and there's plenty of history of that -- then the correct course to take is to change things, not run away from them. Even if it means some boats get rocked.

What if your are a tenth generation family with strong roots and a history of helping even the most backward of states take meaningful steps forward during our long and slow path to equality and freedom for all? Just give up and move to Salt Lake City?

There can be all sorts of reasons: Their family and friends are there, they can't afford to move, they are employed but are unwilling or unable to find a job out of state. Just picking up and leaving for SFO (or someplace more gay friendly) is not a viable option for everyone.

No matter what your belief system, to verbally assault others is completely out of line. Whether it's in person, on twitter, on facebook or otherwise, many people seem to lack the basic ability to treat others with dignity. Some people make life choices that i don't agree with. Me too but there could be a small amount (thus not statistically significant). I have a gay friend who claims there's quite a few married men who have hit on him (I can buy it in at least 1 instance...guy is totally gay and just got married to a woman). "They're only married for convenience." I believe is what he says.
