Yes -- you're asking about two completely different players in the same thread. Use the search command up top to look for threads on each player, then contribute to those threads or start a new one with a more specific question.Gabagool said:Why all the looks and no replies?Am I doing soemthing wrong?![]()
RB #19 sounds about right for now, but personally I think he should be higher in the top 15 and may end up in the top 12.According to Antsports, Benson is being drafted around pick #30 as RB#19. Where do think he should be drafted?
I guess we can agree to disagree on Benson as I believe the opposite as long as he can stay healthy. I know that is a big request, but sometimes guys just start off on the wrong foot and it takes a little while to get things on track. As for Benson, there is no doubt that this is his BOOM or BUST year. After all, they are rolling out the red carpet for him, but he was a bruiser in college and the talent is there. Now he has the opportunity literally being handed to him, so it's time to put up or shut up. I think he will put up. If not for anything else, the system and surrounding factors should allow at least 800 - 1000 with 6 - 8 TDs and that's the low end. If he shows up to play and has the right attitude he could easily end up with 1200-12.With AJ - totally agree. Schaub is an upgrade over Carr and Ahman is an upgrade over Dayne, Gado & Lundy (how bad is that?), so again, the room for improvement is there and the dude had a pretty damn good year last year with less help ...Benson is , IMO, going to be a first class bust. he's slow, can't stay healthy, looks timid when running, isn't shifty enough, shows no burst, and no ability to make people miss..I'm not sure he's better than Curtis Enis was..I'd be shocked if Benson starts and finishes the season as the starter. as for AJ, simply put,he's the most underrated player on fantasy draft boards..I've seen rankings that don't have him in the top 40 ( Antsports) .Seriously , a guy who leads the NFL in receptions last season, ranks out of the top 40, even with a NEW qb throwing to him?!![]()
I would expect 85-90 catches, 8-9 tds out of him in 2007. houston's defense really came around towards the end of '06, and if that continues,it'll mean more offensive possessions for AJ and Shaub to get things going..Ahman Green adds some sense of stability to the running game, and their line is marginally better than it was last season. but, going by the track record of #1 Wr's in a Gary Kubiak offense, I'd expect another very good season from AJ..definitely worthy of a top 25 pick..
Hi Gabagool,Welcome to the forums. Please don't mistake the lack of initial responses as typical. Sometimes we old timers get set in our ways and if someone doesn't follow protocol, it's met with blank stares. Thanks for the tips on how to get some better feedback.
As for the players, IMO, Benson is an RB1 with an RB2/3 reputation. He has the perfect setup in Chicago as a run first, grind the clock out kind of team and even though Rex is OK, they are not a pass first team. I think he is a major value player because you can probably get him late and he should probably go early. I think people are letting him slip under the radar too much.
AJ has proven to be awesome in a crap situation so far so it makes sense to think there is only upside left. Meaning, if he has a standard year that is pretty good anyway, and if his surrounding talent produces (think Schaub), he can be top 5.

Couple of thoughts to get you on your way...
1) Generally if you put your own thoughts, analysis and opinion out there, you will have better response. So instead of saying "what do you think of Player X" you can start a thread and say, "This is what I think of Player X because of A, B, and C."
2) We have an ongoing series of threads dedicated to player analysis called the Player Spotlights. We roll them out from May through July and cover about 120-140 of the most critical offensive fantasy players [QB, RB, WR, TE]. You can always find the pinned thread at the top of the board which will link you through to all the Spotlights we've done YTD. Each of these threads is the seed for a finished player writeup that gets put on the main site along with a written analysis by one of our staff on the same player.
We have a Cedric Benson thread running already: HERE
We do not have an Andre Johnson thread yet.
3) The search box is critical to your experience here on FBG. As one of the most active football-related message boards in the world, there are tons of great discussions that fall off the first page quickly. On many boards, if something isn't on the first page it's probably stale. At FBG, you can go four or five pages deep and find threads that are up-to-the-minute active.
Best of luck, and welcome aboard!
