Thanks for pointing it out, I missed it. Good song- Talking Heads in spirit. Also, whoever first drafted "Crazy Rhythms" by the Feelies (I'm sure I found this through one of these drafts),you.
Thanks, it's been one of the best. Now I got bruce banner and banana cream so it's staying good.Happy Birthday!

Smurfcore is soooooo derivative of acid flash. I'm into Jockey Rap nowI was into chilldump around March or so, but I've moved on to Smurfcore.
I have a sudden notion to "listen" to some young Alizée.Holy smokes. Los Destellos is quite a revelation for me.
See you all later.
Reposting my Round 24/25 picks. Will make up the other rounds tomorrow - the combo of a very long 8A-8P work week plus the lovely 90 minute commute each way on NJTransit (albeit only for three days), with a seven-hour interview today for a potential role at a new firm has taken me offFFAline for a good part of the week as I was game planning for the later.Rounds 24 and 25 Make-up picks - both British Invasion selections
Round 24 - The Spencer Davis Group - I'm A Man
I know this one more from being covered by Chicago than The Spencer a Davis Group. Still going to pick it though. January 1967 release.
Round 25 - The Rolling Stones - Time Is On My Side
Their first U.S. top ten hit, since my favorite song from them (Sympathy) does not qualify for this category. September 1964 release.
Wow...this seems to be begging for a joke about your wifeWhy are the two best rock lyricists of the past 30 years both from Sheffield, England? Before you answer, my wife is from there as well...

Coheed & Cambria might be fronted by Geddy's long lost effeminate son and they're completely unlistenable to me for the same reason.Laughed out loud. I don't hate Rush. I admire the musicianship. I can tolerate the dorky songwriting as long as the talent delivers. I actually manage to love a few of their instrumentals. Geddy is just such riot grrrl. it's those vocals, man. No can do.
So, so, good. Mick Hucknall is silk. Glad this is in the category
With his voice I'm a little surprised they were basically a one hit wonder. At the very least Hucknall could have went the (much later) Rod Stewart route and crooned standards I think. So, so, good. Mick Hucknall is silk. Glad this is in the category![]()
He did just that. With his voice I'm a little surprised they were basically a one hit wonder. At the very least Hucknall could have went the (much later) Rod Stewart route and crooned standards I think.
Had no idea. Makes a ton of sense. Was it recently or a while back?He did just that.
Michael McDonald is pretty much the poster boy for this genre. Good call.
He has two solo albums. One in 2008 that's a tribute to Bobby Bland and one in 2012 that's American Soul covers. His cover of Otis' That's How Strong My Love Is charted in the U.K.Had no idea. Makes a ton of sense. Was it recently or a while back?
Not only did they have multiple U.S. Hot 100 hits ... they had multiple #1s. You picked their most memorable tune, IMHO.With his voice I'm a little surprised they were basically a one hit wonder. At the very least Hucknall could have went the (much later) Rod Stewart route and crooned standards I think.
ClassicNorthern Voice said:For an upcoming sales meeting, I'm supposed to fill in a survey and one question is "What is your favourite celebration/dancing song" They put them together and make up a playlist for the gala dinner. I could play it straight and pick a favourite song, pick a current party song since it might skew a bit older in terms of responses, or I could go pure shtick - but something that still gets people to the dance floor. Basically this post is looking for shtick suggestions.
You're one round too early. We're still on punk, blue eyed soul and BroadwaySo we're on riot grrl too rn. Right? I figured Metric would be the queen of this category. Kind of funny seeing her go in a different genre
gawd u r old.RD 29 GENRE: Blue-Eyed Soul
How Can I Be Sure - The Rascals
song link.
Great song, and will always remember when this song came out. Top 40 AM radio in the 60s.
yes 29, punk, blue eyed, broadwayAre we drafting round 29 today? Just where are we, exactly? I don't want to jump the gun.
Listened to this one today while outside working in the yard. Obviously nothing groundbreaking but an enjoyable listen. The guy can sing and he picked some classics to cover.one in 2012 that's American Soul covers. His cover of Otis' That's How Strong My Love Is charted in the U.K.
Punk or hardcore is fine by me. I was going to pick a hardcore song, actually. The punk category on the spreadsheet says punk/hardcore. we featuring hardcore here or?
