Getting Tired of Waiting on Promise? (1 Viewer)

OK where are all those people that said that Bush and Maroney would both be starting by mid season. It looks like that is not going to happen.

Reggie Bush might have all the talent in the world but if he is going to continue to get single digit point totals nearly every week what good is he really going to be for fantasy owners. Mr. Decoy is really helping the Saints offense and at the same time killing fantasy teams.

Lawrence Maroney is a top 5-8 runningback in the league and is splitting carries. Doesn't make much sense to me. For all the NFL teams that passed on Maroney that are having trouble with runningbacks are slugging themselves about now. Fantasy owners are having real issues with Belichek's schitzophrenic usage of his running backs by committee that now includes Faulk as part of the three headed monster.

Let's see:

a)they are both rookies

b)they are both on teams with very capable, veteran rbs

Maroney might be in a better situation seeing as though Dillon is getting up there in age, but Bush is going to be more of a role player and change of pace player in the Saints backfield (I love it as a Saints fan). Deuce will be the primary back as long as he's healthy. This is something any fan of football would know. You should really watch what you read on these boards. The mass of the stuff on this board is a bunch of nonsense.

These are both cases of players helping their respective teams in the real world, but not in fantasy football. With both the Pats and the Saints winning, I wouldn't expect anything to change for the remainder of the year (barring injury, of course).

I've thought they had both been pretty solid RB2 or RB3. Bush obviously only in a PPR, but that's not really any great surprise.

I am interested, however, in people's opinions about both of these guys for next year. If you're out of it, like me, in a keeper league, they should be on the top of your list for people to target for next year. Do Pats homers think Maroney will be the man next year, and, if so, will he be effective? Will Dillon be back for another year?

Maroney is a stud in the making but Dillon is not done yet. He's very proud and very strong. Those waiting for him to fade into the sunset this year are in for disappointment.

In a non-PPR, return yds league( 1 for 10 ) Bush is averaging 10 pts a game and Maroney is averaging 15 pts a game.

I guess it just depends how your leagues scoring is setup.

Yes. But it's not Bush's fault that I drafted him so early :)

At least there IS promise with them. I'm in a deep league and got disheartened on Lundy being buried on the depth chart after week 1 and cut him for Anthony Thomas :bag:

Belichick and the play calling is killing Maroney's value (AND Dillon's)- not Dillon. Dillon had 60% of his yards in the first quarter- then didn't get carries again until the final drive. He's the new Mike Shanahan.

Reggie Bush was only thought to be a real viable FF player in ppr leagues for this year. And he is.
:goodposting: scores well every week in a PPR, solid #2 back there.

and from an NFL perspective, Bush has a great deal to do with the Saints success this year.

and, as someone else has said, it is not event he 1/2 way point to the season

and, as far as Maroney goes, I don't think all that many people were expecting great things out of him this year, with Dillon there and healthy.

Anyone with this thinking in dynasty leagues should not be playing dynsasty leagues. Those in redraft leagues should know better than to spend a high draft pick on a rookie RB who's behind a good veteran. I thought this was FF 101.

remember a few weeks ago when you could get a really good player for maroney? I do  :wayne:
Just got Daryl Jackson last week.As a Pats homer, I love Maroney, he is going to be a stud, but barring a Dillon injury his ceiling is RB2 #s; however, I don't think he will score consistantly, he'll have off games with 20 yds, then have a 100/2 game. I prefer something more consistant from my RB2.I think those that had him as their RB3/4 and were able to trade to upgrade a WR1 or WR2 are pretty happy right now.Of course if Dillon goes down in week 12  but you can't predict injury.

Very :goodposting: MB's are a cess pool of BS. Use your own scouting and NFL knowledge the best you can.Why do you think they call this The Shark Pool?
