I don't let myself get haunted by the ghosts.

If I did then I would have missed out numerous times. Like a few years back this late round pick rookie out of little ol AA Hofstra was tearing up camp and and had a respectable 8 for 84 and a TD in preseason.

Victor Cruz had 3 TD for the Giants vs. the Jets and he became a NYC sleeper favorite last year. Got drafted in every league and I don't even know how many times he dressed

After the first preseason game, some loony Patriots fans were already calling for Ryan Mallett to supplant Tom Brady, THIS YEAR. Although I do think he will amount to something.

While this is true to a point, the difference between Colston and some of the so-called "ghosts" is that you could see Colston's ability on the field, at least in my opinion. The stats by themselves are not enough in preseason. This is why people should be watching preseason games instead of just looking at stats. It's not fool proof by any means, but you can see the difference sometimes.
