Giants #1 DST this week? (1 Viewer)

So the site has the Giants DST as the #1 DEF this week, even though they are playing the high powered Eagles offense? I don't get it. What am I missing here?

I assume ranking is based on system that doesn't award points based on points allowed. The Giants get lots of sacks and Vick gets sacked a lot (well, the count as sacks if he is scrambling in the pocket). I also think they expect some turnovers. Vick has not been turnover free as of late.

I don't see it. Eagles should be higher then the Giants D considering the amount of INTS Eli throws and Samuel is back this week.

Giants did a great job of keeping Vick in check last meeting with their D line and forcing him to run right (against his comfort zone for throwing on the run) - it produced his lowest passer rating of year (albeit 83), 3.1 ypc for Vick and only full game played he did not through any TDs, plus now Giants are at home. Akers pretty much won the game for Philly and McCoys 50 yard TD (am pretty sure) was on a busted 4th and 1.

Not sure the Giants should be #1 but definitely a top D this week.

Yes I am Giants fan but I am pretty subjective, Eli is probably good for a few INTs...

I have New England as the Number 1 D/ST this weekend. They are playing at home against a guy making his first NFL start. The Packers special teams are nothing special so I would not be surprised to see the Pats returning a touchdown on a punt or a kick. I think the Packers offensive line showed a bit last week that they are suspect.

I expect the Pats to go

4 Sacks

2 Turnovers

1 Defensive or Special Teams Score.

I dont think they are a top defense but they got me 9 points in my scoring format when they played up in Philly. They might actually do better on their home turf. Then again the Eagles might actually do better and avenge the first game loss. Im staying away and playing Dallas but look out next week if they play the Packers with Flynn.

3 sacks, 1 interception, 1 fumble recovery, and only 3 points allowed into the third quarter. not over, but not bad.

I wouldn't have thought they would perform like this, but someone who put those rankings together seemed to be right on the beam. I hate the Giants so I am hoping the Eagles come back, but I don't see anything that would indicate it will happen.

This brings up an interesting hypothetical. What if you have a very good QB, and your team plays very well with him at the helm. Unfortunately, your primary threat for the division title just owns the guy. They have him completely figured out and because of this, you are a wild card at best. Do you keep him as your QB or try to find someone else in the offseason?
