Giants Defense (1 Viewer)

I have the Giants D in one league. They have been nothing short of atrocious the last few weeks. In one of my leagues they are 23rd in scoring. In the another they are 15th. But yet on both the top 250, and the custom top 250 have them ranked as either the second or the third fantasy D. Do the defensive rankings just not get updated? I can't imagine that the Giants D, at this point, are even in the top ten. I'm going to launch them. They were good in the early cupcake match ups they had, against Washington, Tampa, KC and Oakland. But against New Orleans and Philly they were horrible. And they have much tougher match ups the second half of the year. Anyone got any idea why they are still ranked this high?

Those rankings actually did get updated this week. The Giants IMPROVED from #3 to #2 in Dodds' rankings. I have no idea why.

In the last three weeks they have given up 112 points and 1172 yards. They have no defensive TDs, but 4 sacks, 1 INT, and 3 fumbles recovered. Still this hardly seems like a group of stats that would allow them to stay in place, leave alone move up. And they have a bye coming up.

I'm very close to jumping ship on this group. Better options on the waiver wire with better matchups. Teams like cincy, arizona, dallas, miami etc.

Dumping the Giants would be foolish. I'd try to pick them up/trade for them. Why?

1) Boley and Canty are due back this week, and Ross after the bye. These are strong additions to all three levels of the defense.

2) From now through Week 16, Giants play five of seven at home just as the weather starts to get nasty.

3) In the most important weeks of the FF season, 15-16, Giants play at the Skins and host the Panthers. Hard to find better match-ups than that.

4) This team expects to contend for the Super Bowl -- whether that's realistic anymore or not, it is the mindset. With so many veteran leaders on the D, the turnaround will start on that side of the ball.

That is a good argument. I am dumping them now and I'll look to pick them up again if they improve.
