What would Lemmy do?
My father-in-law is friendly with Giants trainer. Every once in a while they get together, and I give him some fantasy related questions to ask him. Keep in mind this is not a coach talking, there's nothing guaranteed about this info, it's just a trainer's opinion, but maybe it provides some small insight into the team's thoughts.
Eli Manning - they are a throwing team now. Yes, they'd love balance, but Eli is going to be airing it out plenty. Doesn't think the last couple of 4k seasons were an aberration - suspects INTs will drop with healthy WRs.
Ahmad Bradshaw - the Giants have every intention of trying to bring Bradshaw back. They love his talent and style of play (except the fumbles), and barring another team breaking the bank for him he should be the lead RB for the foreseeable future.
Brandon Jacobs - He will be involved for sure - the lesser of a RBBC. Supposedly the Giants have never really considered Jacobs bellcow material, they just don't think he would last. But he's also the type that pouts when he doesn't get the ball, so they do want him to see touches. If Bradshaw keeps fumbling Jacobs' touches could increase.
Danny Ware - Trainer mentioned Ware as someone who could contribute "in a pinch", but not a real candidate for touches unless something changes (injury or Bradshaw leaves and they don't sign anyone, etc.)
Da'Rel Scott - unknown until he can show what he's got, lockout preventing them from forming a decision right now. Giants like having a deep roster at RB though, and their track record is decent over the last several years.
Steve Smith - if Smith proves he's healthy, the Giants will try and bring him back. The lockout is kind of casting a shadow over Smith's recovery, though word is it is going well (but this is from Smith himself, not the Giants). Smith is a favorite of Eli's and provides a great security blanket for him, something Manningham is not considered at this point. They want him back as long as he's healthy -- he's considered a key part of the offense.
Nicks - not much everyone already doesn't know. Will be featured prominently as a top tier WR.
Manningham - they like him, but don't quite trust him yet. His skill set is great but he makes mistakes that Steve Smith does not; in a perfect world, Manningham remains the #3 and will have some big games but won't be consistent enough in fantasy. If Smith leaves Manningham gets a nice bump, but Trainer thinks Smith will be back if he's healthy.
Kevin Boss - doesn't think he'll ever be a big factor in the passing game - last season was probably what you would see from him on average. FA and Giants will probably bring him back, though he's not considered a huge priority.
Travis Beckham - Hasn't developed as hoped yet. Still a chance he can work his way onto the field more, as he is more naturally gifted a receiver than Boss.
