Giants v Bears (1 Viewer)

Forte looking very, very good. Cutler as well...
Pretty sure you could have run it through that 6 foot hole.MLB got wasted on that play (33 yard run) and whoosh! right by safeties.Very impressed with Bennett. Believe he had 9 TDs as a Freshman (Cutler was in his last year), guy has great hands and I've heard he is a crisp route runner. All the focus is on Hester and Olsen, but I think Earl has a chance to be a nice bye week filler from the back end of your draft.

Jacobs got stood up at the line on 3rd and 2, keep churning and ran right through him.

Giants have looked awful on defense (4 starters missing).

wrong play BL, there was a second one.Moving right to left across your TV screen and running off Left tackle. BU tried to come and stop Jacobs and BJ literally ran right through him, in stride, en route to a nice gain.

Bears O looks amazing. I know its preseason but I am stunned. Never say Bear football like this.

Jacobs blew up Urlacher, twice. One was real bad.

Thanks, GB, my bad - on baby duty and wasn't sure if I had missed the play or not.

The Bears look like they forgot to practice tackling in training camp. Lovie is calling the D this year. There's no excuse for this. :)
Yea and Urlacher is a smart guy too. Both times Jacobs went through him Urlacher tried to go for the shoulders.

Cutler looking great. He's confident, is feeling the pass rush well and stepping into the pocket to make plays, took off running when he saw a broken coverage. It'll be interesting to see if Orton also shakes off last week's rough start.

Very disappointing game so far. CHI is getting lots of pressure, Eli looks lost, no WR has stepped up yet, half the defense is injured and the ones who are playing aren't doing anything.

So far, Cutler has shown poise and good decision making. I was surprised by his speed running for the first down. He has enough arm strength to get the ball down the field and get the ball quickly in short passes and on roll outs.

Bump up all key Bears offensive players after tonight maybe with the exception of Hester who mis-read and under ran a bomb by Cutler that should have been a TD.

Forte made a nifty move to break off a 19 yard run and then galloped through a gaping hole for a score. He also caught a nice pass underneath.

Bennett was targeted early and often. He looks to be a late round steal. Olsen was also involved and seems to have nice chemistry with Cutler (as advertised). Even Desmond Clark got into the act with an end zone target for a TD.

Cutler did throw some balls into coverage including one that definitely should have been picked off by the Giants secondary. But, overall, he moved around in the pocket effectively and went through his progressions. He even threw the ball away on a botched screen which was good to see.

Giants looked terrible but were out some vital pieces. Still the backups were playing like backup when asked to step up.

If anyone can confirm via DVR I think on the roll out bomb to Hester(where he stopped his route) Cutler throws it from his own 4 yard line. It lands at what I thought was the NYG 30. Moving to his right on the run, that is a BOMB. Why does the fastest guy on the team stop running???

These are the only things standing in the way from a productive fantasy season for the Bears skill guys, im0. Getting comfortable in what each other is going to do. If Hester and Cutler get on the same page, look out.

As a Giants fan I wish there was something I could take away from this game but the GMen looked bad in several areas. The oline was missing 2 starters (but not the tackles) and the Bears were in the backfield routinely and it seemed like a lot of the pressure was from the outside. Eli and the offense never got into a rhythm, Jacobs ran with power and he seemed to catch the ball better than in previous years. I read somewhere that he had spent time on this and I think it showed. With an inexperienced receiving corps Eli may rely on the backs a little more, both Bradshaw and Ware seem are capable receivers out of the backfield and if Jacobs can add that dimension to his game I think that bumps him up a little.

The defense was missing several starters but still never got any pressure on Cutler that I can remember. He seemed to have all day to scan the field and was pretty poised. Even when flushed Cutler seems to throw on the run with the best of them and was able to attack down field on several occasions.

A package the Giants ran that's worth mentioning, they had Ware in the backfield and Bradshaw split out wide, then threw it to Bradshaw as he was crossing the field. With the WRs still figuring things out with Eli this type of package would allow the Giants to get as many of their backfield playmakers on the field at once.

I do happen to think a surprise for the Giants could be Manningham this year. After underwhelming so far in his career, he seems to be running good routes and getting separation. Eli has targeted him but they haven't been able to take advantage of all the opportunities.

3rd time was the charm - Urlacher figured it out. On his third attempt on Jacobs, he met him at the line (the play where Jacobs is slanting to his left). Urlacher hit across the thigh pads and put him on the ground for no gain. Buy yeah, hitting Jacobs high has never been a good plan - and Urlacher was the poster child for why twice tonight.

Agreed, I'll just add that Ware looked solid returning kicks - which is nice, won't have to use Bradshaw or one of the WRs for that. I don't think losing Ward will have any affect - all three RBs will be major contributors, same as last year (and same as the year before).Hard to take much away from a game where the effort was so weak, just hope they'll play at a higher level once all the starters are back in.
