I think "Dentist" was at the game 4th row behind the plate. He was the guy that interfered with the ball I know it!

I really think Peralta was aided by the crowd yesterday. I've seen him pitch before and I've never seen him look so good. Hey KC, get out there and support your team!Hi guys, I was at the game. and am still recovering from massive sunbrn....its gonna be a long day!As to Peralta, I was impressed, bu I was happy with him in 2006. He is you average MR....contrary to yesterday, he has never been real overpowering. If Dotel and Riske somehow went down, it would be either Peralta or possibly Rule 5 pick Joakim Soria.Yesterday was a great day to be a KC homer...hopefully it is the start of the road to respectability, and then to competing for the playoffs in 2-3 seasons.
Bell has not said definitively, but most of the speculation is that it is a platoon. There is a chance if Billy Butler rakes in AAA Omaha like he did in ST and in 2005-06, that he will force the KC brass to make a spot for him, meaning Brown and Sanders probably get traded. IMO Butler WILL force their hand and will be up by July 1st.Gload can play RF, LF and 1B, so his roster spot is safe. What's up in left field? Is this going to be strictly a L/R platoon with Gload and Brown?
KC is not "small Market"....for a stretch of about 15 seasons, from '80-'95, they had one of the highest payrolls in MLB. It is only called "Small Market" by folks looking for an excuse. The reality is that we have a VERY RICH OWNER, who is the CEO of the biggest retailer in the world. He has rejected deals where KC would take on money for better talent, etc. He has seen these names traded on his watch because he would not sign them: Cone, Appier, Dye, Damon, Beltran, Ibanez, Suppan.I say all that to say that I think when Dayton Moore interviewed for the job, he told Glass to get out of the way and let Moore make the decisions, and that has led to some great trades and spending money. Say what you want about Meche not being worth 55 million....the mere fact that KC spent some money is HUGE for the fans of this once-great franchise to see that maybe the direction has changed. The national media (for the most part) don't get it. It is as if they would rather see KC just continue to lose 100 games and forget about them. Some are starting to see it, like Peter Gammons and Jayson StarkAgain, KC is not "Small market". Saint Louis is only 200K people larger than KC and has had a payroll twice that of KC until this season. It is all about the owner and willingness to win and not simply collect his revenue sharing check and lose 100 games a season.and as to younger talent.....look on the 40 man roster alone.....Ryan Shealy, Alex Gordon, David DeJesus, Mark Teahan, Luke Hochevar, Billy Butler, Zach Greinke....other well thought of minor leaguers include Justin Huber, Tyler Lumbsden, Chris Lubanski, and Billy Buckner./end rantI think Meche will be fine but $55 million seems a little steep for a smaller market team. Hopefully they can develop some of their younger talent to compliment him.Just a side note but I was watching the game yesterday and enjoyed seeing George Brett. He was a great player and all but all I wanted them to do was show that dam "pine tar incident" footage again. Love that clip!!
Ah..OK man, didn't mean to touch a nerve there. My point wasn't to bang on KC just that the Meche signing seemed a little over the top. And as I mentioned the younger talent can defineatly be developed both at the major and minor league level.KC is not "small Market"....for a stretch of about 15 seasons, from '80-'95, they had one of the highest payrolls in MLB.
