Hope she's ok, Pack.

Glad she is okay. She should go see a doctor. I can't imagine having a daughter who isn't a hypochondriac.
Ha, she hates doctors.

Sorry to hear, Pack.  Glad she's ok.
Thanks guys. She spent 2 hours there, mostly because the stupid place wouldn't treat her without having a medical claim from our car insurance. State Farm said that was ridiculous.

She has whiplash and is hurting, but otherwise ok. Already on the plane to Puerto Rico. Nothing like a week in the sun to sure all ills!

Good to hear. : Thumbup:

I know a lot of folk who get into bike wrecks, feel like they're fine and just go about their business... Until the adrenaline wears off and everything hurts but the other party is gone so no options for a claim.

octomom apparently enrolled her brood into my daughter's school.  she drives an old pos econoline van with dually tires on the back.  actually actually true.

7ish?  she was frantically ejecting them out of the van because they were late.  i had to wade through them in the office kind of like kirk in the tribbles episode.

my wife just told me they are in 4th grade.  so 9ish

Neat bored.

Took the kids city sledding... Sleds, on slides, at playground across the street. Wind driven thunder sleet is neat.

So my older brother got a golden handshake from the company he worked for last summer.  It wasn't a huge deal but it was a couple of years early.  He was talking about finding some other source of income for the next few years.  He mentioned something a couple of months ago about e-commerce.

Yesterday he posts on FB about his new venture.  Now he's a sharp dude...especially when it comes to personal finance.  But this is just nuts.  He built his own website along with a "store" that will sell shirts, hats, decals etc.

Whats it about?  Well...basically...you're going to die so you better get right with jeebus.  I mean that's it.  He created a logo and everything.

Hell, it might be the WWJD of 2017.  What do I know.
Ug.

Brother just posted a video on FB.  He reedited scenes from the Nick Cage crapfest "Left Behind" to include shots of hats, shirts, and stickers from his "company".

I had to watch it twice to make sure I saw what I thought I saw  :oldunsure:

I've complained about the attitude and behavior of my oldest son a number of times in here. He still isn't Mr. Empathy and he hasn't exactly tried to win Wife 2.0 over with some kind of grand gesture (or even a little one), but he has been more than acceptable lately.

But I really have to give him credit: he is a 4.0 student, is a 10th grader taking a college level math class that I had to take twice when I was a Freshman in college, is taking AP Chemistry and honors Biology, is playing select club baseball and HS baseball, and has a job bagging groceries at the local supermarket. I am tired just thinking about it. And also more than a little proud of him.

The world needs grocery baggers too.

Sounds like an amazing kid... Somebody that smart and capable should hopefully grow into more emotional maturity. Do you express that pride to him? How does he react?

that sounds awfully stressful (not shtick). do you ever take him out for beers and strippers (sorta shtick but not really)?

thought for sure i'd posted this here but apparently not?

if you're a kung fu movie fan, something called the El Rey channel has been running kung fu movies most of the day on Sundays for the last several weeks at least.

Oh I tell him I am proud of him pretty often. I did that even when were at each other's throats. His therapist, who is an ######, was shocked to hear that when he asked my son whether I did that. He had apparently decided that this was all my fault and that I must fit all the bad stereotypes about "difficult fathers".

Nope, not bitter at all.

I have forgiven my son, that part was easy. The people who enabled him...not so much.

He appreciates when I do. Even when we were ready to kill each other, I'd tell him I loved him regularly. I think that made him mad sometimes. But he would say it back about half the time.

just reading about his schedule made me sweat a little

he must be feeling a lot of pressure all around
I know. It is a monster schedule.

He is a first born and is soft-spoken, but is also a very Type A personality. He may put that pressure on himself.

All three of my kids have different methods for attention-seeking: his is achievement.

Love El Rey. Pro tip: uncensored after 9pm, so you get an occasional boob.
